Tiger's Swing at Bay Hill (2011)

Won't be too long before that swing wins a tournament. His misses are getting narrower all the time. At this point I'd say it's pretty much his tee shots that hold him back from winning.

It looks like on that specific swing, his backswing was slightly outside the plane, and the downswing was slightly below the plane, which once grooved can work well.  It also promotes a good hip turn on the downswing.  He also shows great wrist, shaft angle until the very last possible second insuring clean contact.  The main problem I could see here is making sure to have a square club face at impact.

No way...not on the way down at least.

Could straighten the rear knee a bit more and turn hips a bit more in the backswing--this would get his hands deeper.  Forward swing--looks like he is hanging back too much with his head, could work on getting the upper center more forward at impact.

I'm thinking it's probably a bit more handsy in the impact area than Foley would like, but overall, the swing is looking good. Seems to be more clubface rotation after impact than Foley likes.

I would love to see Tiger start doing well again, because he makes everything so dramatic and fun to watch.  He does have a good looking swing; I just hope his head is in the right universe to play coming opening round.

There's kind of an interesting video over at SITD of some other pros and caddies talking candidly amongst themselves about Tiger's swing/game at Bay Hill. I don't usually link stuff that you have to register to see, but if you are interested enough then go for it. Arms not as deep as I'd thought they'd be.

Don't think this will be top 5 at Augusta - his putting and driving still is less than desirable.

But maybe he'd done something in the last 2 weeks ... that he hasn't played.
