Shorts (preferably Loudmouth.) I like to keep some color so my family/friends look like freaks when they come down to visit.

The only way that I will wear pants is if it will be sub 55 degrees for more than half of my round, which happens 5-6 times during the winter.

Shorts.  I have a pretty low tolorance for heat/humidity, so shorts are a must.

Whats in my :sunmountain: C-130 cart bag?

I wear shorts almost exclusively unless it is colder than 50 degrees.  My picture for my current avatar is with pants when it was @ 45 in January.  I found some good deals on shorts and pants at the Izod outlet and I found Greg Norman shorts at Costco.

Very true.

Calgary is DRY....like....DRY....I would hate to imagine back in New Zealand in the summer wearing golf pants....my legs would be a water hazard

btw - Why can't pro's wear shorts during competition? Basketball you wear shorts, tennis, baseball you dont because you have to slide on ground and would ruff up your legs. There isnt really any physical reason for pro's to have to wear pants

They can't wear them because it is the rules....golf is a 'formal' game whether we lie it or not, and pants are formal.

So I played a round today wearing pants to try it out, and it was just fine. It seems like the consensus is that high humidity is the issue with pants, and, in Houston, high humidity is almost everyday. Today was no different. I think I saw that humidity was at 58% or so, but I felt just fine. However, the sun wasn't out, so it was in the 80s. I definitely felt more like a pro in the pants. Idk if I'll be able to wear pants regularly, but I'll give them another try next time out.

Typically shorts, but just bought a pair of UA white pants, gonna give it a shot in the near future. FYI I live in Houston too. I don't tend to sweat a lot so I'm predicting pants will be fine. ard1

I have always been a shorts guy.  Normally just Polo khaki shorts, bought a pair of the UA Bentgrass shorts and they are awesome.  Never again will I wear "regular" shorts.  With that said.  I have worn the previously mentioned Izod "performance style" golf pants a couple of times this year and really enjoy wearing pants.  I did not notice it being warmer at all, and it protected me from the wind and sticky sand.  I was trap happy that day.

Shorts for sure... there is nothing like putting on a nice pair of golf shorts and a polo in the summer time.

I for some reason feel like pants restrict me. Not a clue why, I just feel "free" in shorts.

One thing is for sure, I'll never wear white pants. I have no idea why pros insist upon wearing them. They look absolutely turrible to me. Tom Watson is the best dressed golfer on Augusta right now. (tiger hasn't teed off yet) He keeps it simple: khaki pants and a nice shirt. White pants??? WTF?

I wouldn't wear white pants, but if it's hot they are much cooler than darker colors plus its harder to see sweat marks wearing white on tv.

I used to feel this whenever I had a pullover on like with my rain suit or whatever.  It's a mental thing that I had to get over.

I am good with either.  If it's a fun round of golf with my buddies, then I'll throw the shorts on.  If I am playing in some kind of tournament, then I will wear pants 100% of the time.  It just seems like the pants make me focus a little more (mental thing)....they put me into "tournament" mode or something.  I guess I feel like I really have to focus and show what I can do if I am wearing the pants.

Weirdo.....I know!

Pants all year long. We rarely get temperatures over 30ºC/86ºF. It's usually around 20-25ºC/68-77ºF.

On really hot days I wear white pants that don't pick up too much heat from the sun. I don't like walking in shorts in tall grass looking for my ball, being burned by a stinging nettle, having bugs and stuff sticking to my legs.

I wear shorts unless the temp is below 45 deg F or if the course policy is pants.  I feel like I have more unrestricted range of motion in shorts.
