Often times I have an idea for a post to make, not just on here but on all forums, but the process of writing the post either makes me realize the answer to my question or realize that it is a useless thread and I end up deleting it.

Does that ever happen to anyone else?

Quite often.  Lately, I'd say at least 1 out of 3 posts I start writing, I get about half-way done with and then decide to abandon it.  Usually I realize it's not a useful addition to the conversation, or that it was an argument that sounded good but didn't pan out when I got to thinking through the specifics.

I do it quite often, mostly when someone is asking advice and I "think" I could help them, but realize I'm far from being expert enough to give such advice.  Other times it's usually when someone responds to one of my posts but I know whatever I post won't change the other persons opinion so I delete it rather than beat the dead horse for another round.

I do this a lot. Usually I realize that my initial reaction was wrong or just stupid. I can't say it stops all of my dumb thoughts from getting through though...

Occasionally, but not too often. I usually it's because I scrolled up to read more of the thread only to realize someone else said what I was going to. Sometimes because I decided I'd rather wait to see what others said. And every so often, because I don't think that what I actually have to say was as relevant/interesting/good as what I originally thought I had to say.

Yes, sometimes I decide I don't want to post it, sometimes something dumb happens with the browser giving me an error of posting and I've lost motivation to retype the whole message.  What is even worse is that I take grad school classes online and need to make forum posts all the time and this happens way too often, although I'd much post about golf than law concepts.

Only for posts I write when I've had a few beers or for posts where I vent (usually aimed toward someone). I find that just the process of writing down all the crazy stuff I'm thinking is sufficient enough to satisfy whatever I needed to feel at that moment.

Write it in Word or notepad, then save+copy and paste, your hair will thank you and everyone in a six block radius will relax due to the significantly decreased amount of random cursing they have gotten used to.  It took me way to long to figure out that this was the best way to maintain my sanity.

That happens to me quite often.  Reasons for not going through with the post can be that I think some things might offend people, could be misinterpreted, or are not my "right" to comment on as I am a high handicapper.

It took my five tries to post this one. I just thought the first four posts were arguementative and not internet worthy.  Ok, so I am exagerating, but I have deleted my fair share for the reasons stated above.
