Well we have a final round of the year thread but it's 2012 now, so what is your first round of the year? Due to some unseasonably warmer weather, I've been seeing some posts of golfers getting to play when there is usually snow on the ground.

I'll be playing my first round on Wednesday at a course I've never played before, San Vincente CC.  It's a practice round for a team play match there next Saturday.

I was hoping it would be yesterday but I couldn't find an open course with available tee times and my wife had honey-do's for me to do.  I'm guessing unless we see another heat wave here on Long Island it won't be until late March.

Hopefully before the end of January, depending on work schedules.  Step son is a caddie at a local high end club, may even get out with him.

Normally, first round here here outside Chicago is around March, but with the warm spell, I played twice last week. The local course had staying open (weather permitting) and a few others sent out emails announcing special openings.

Air temperature in the high 40's, but sunny and no wind. I've been colder in October. The ground is still frozen though, which makes it hard to stick a tee into it. Don't hit fat, as there's no divot and it hurts. Water balls sit out there on the ice laughing at you. On the other hand, there's great bounce and roll.

Mine was 8am on Jan 1 in northern CA.    Not too hungover, but I think the greenskeeper must have been given the pin placements that day.

Played on Jan 1 with my son.  A great way to start off the new year :)

Yesterday at the Eagles in Tampa.  Worst round in two years, haha.  Nice new carts and a bunch of newly paved cart paths though.  The new owners seem to be doing a good job sprucing things up.
