It shows how manly he is. I think he should ask Paula where she gets her stuff from too... ;)

I hope that doesn't produce as much glare as it looks like it does. Good news is it's unlikely to get stolen outside the clubhouse.

That doesnt look to bad at all.  Id play it if i could hit the ball like him.

Urgh, I don't like it. Too much pink for me. Black shaft with pink club head would be better imho (if he really likes this color).

Wow, that shaft really puts it over the top!

You guys know he's doing it for charity, right? A cancer charity gets $300 for every 300 yd drive he hits with it.

Yes John Solheim is donating the $  Really interesting idea for Bubba, Ping and the charity

Quote:

Ping will donate $300 for the first 300 drives Watson hits over 300 yards, which shouldn't take too long given he averaged nearly 315 yards off the tee last season.

The money will go to Phoenix-based charities as part of his "Bubba and Friends Drive to a Million" scheme.

"Pink has always made me stand out, but now it's going to bring attention for a good cause, so I have extra motivation to hit the ball as far as I can," said Watson, who is in Torrey Pines, California this week to defend his Farmers Insurance Open.

"My goal is to make Ping pay every cent," he added.

Ping chairman and chief executive officer John A Solheim doesn't seem to mind, and thinks the pink G20 driver "makes you smile just to look at it".

Bearing the inscription "Made Exclusively for Bubba", the club's loft is 8.5 degrees and the 44.5-inch shaft is a pink True Temper Grafalloy Bi-Matrix.

It looks horrible and I couldn't stand looking at it yesterday, but at least it's for a good cause.  Good cause or not, I'd rather skip past his drives.  Hopefully someday he'll just go to a pink grip or something.

Made me instantly think that he was raising awareness for Breast Cancer before I heard the reason.  I don't care what it looks like if we get closer to a cure.  Maybe Phil will get one too!

I noticed that his name was in script.  But I guess I didn’t find it surprising.  Anyone who uses a pink driver might be expected to be marching to a different drummer.

Well the driver is hot pink so script would seem to fit better than bold manly letters.  The whole setup is strange but it is for a good cause so more power to him.

Have to give the man credit for being secure enough to pull out a hot pink driver.  Too bad only about 20% of what is raised actually go towards research.

Always changing:

Driver: Cobra S2/Nike VR Pro 10.5º

Irons: Callaway X-20 Tour 4-9i

Hybrid: Titleist 910H 19º & 21º

Wood: TaylorMade R11 3w

Putter: Odyssey White Hot

Wedges: Titleist Vokeys - 48º, 54º, 62º

First round: February 2011

Bubba's got one hot pink driver there. He put one out there today at 350. I'll pass on the script.

    • @jxdama: Same dumb schtick since joining. Yup. Also, it's a par-73.
    • Day 97 - 2025-01-05 Showed up to something that absolutely floored me, and then was busy right through to 9:00. So, I got 5:00 in at night, at home, before bed. My rib cage hurts from a cough (ha ha, but also, f***), and I think I have a mild ear infection in my right ear. Things are just f***ing great.
    • OMG Jerry Barber shot -20 back in 1960! Let's go back and time and bitch about how easy it is to play golf. My goodness, Calvin Pete shot a -21 in 1986! Wait a second, David Duval shot -26 back in 1999! Hold up, Ernie Els shot a -31 back in 2003!!!!  (all scores at The Sentry, it is a very easy golf course for PGA Tour players).  The concept that golf in the past is this protecting par or what not is just romanticized BS. Golfer's have been tearing apart golf courses for decades. Let's have a sense of perspective to base our opinions, ok?
    • I wont  comment further except to say maybe we  can get a  -40 winner soon on these tests  of golf  skill     Hideki Matsuyama runs away with The Sentry, breaks scoring record to open new PGA Tour season Hideki Matsuyama picked up his 11th PGA career win on Sunday afternoon in Hawaii.
    • Day 4 - Had aspirations for range work but a family activity went a lot longer than expected. So 6 minutes of mirror work, feeling good about weight shift back and transition forward.
