Don't kids cut grass for spending money anymore? When I was a kid and needed some cash I'd grab the mower and the gas can and peddle my services. Get your lazy ass outside kid and go earn some money. This is the problem with kids anymore, they want everything for free and don't want to work.

We want to believe you but under the circumstances it's pretty difficult. BUT, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. Tell you what, send me the NVG driver head and I will reshaft it for you for free. I have a couple of R flex shafts laying around, a professional hydraulic shaft puller, etc. and have been building clubs for 10 years. You pay shipping both ways. Throw a photocopy of your driver's license in the box as well - I'd like to believe your avatar is you and you're really an 18 year old kid but a little proof goes a long way.

WHY THE HELL SHOULD HE PAY SHIPPING???????

In the race of life, always back self-interest. At least you know it's trying.

So, where is the picture of the broker NVwhatever clubhead and shaft?  I want to see your braces in the background.

The first thing I thought of when I saw the follow-up, smoking gun, indicting post, was the beggers I see on the corner asking for money every day.  It used to be guys in clothes they've clearly been wearing for years, barely any teeth, and seemingly living on the same street/corner.  These days, I get people asking me for spare change that occasionally have on nicer jeans than I own.  They appear to be well-groomed sometimes and have means to get cash if needed.

Anyway, my point is that, your POV and my immediate thought seem to go to the same issue: more people are willing to just ask for something with nothing to give in return (please don't turn this into a political statement) rather than thinking of how they can earn that same something.  I didn't cut any lawns when I was younger, but I do remember always asking my grandparents if there were chores or tasks I could do for them for some spending cash if I needed it.  I wonder if that translates into the adult years in terms of work ethic?  I don't know for sure, but it wouldn't surprise me if there were a correlation.

Well, surely from a personal POV, it's better to get it for free than to pay for it.

He'd prefer an adjustable driver and if you were so generous as to send him one he wants the wrench to go with it.  I guess kids don't work for money any more, they just scam for what they want on the internet.

One thing- That is my avatar and it is of me, but I do not have a drivers license yet. Any other suggestions? I asked my parents and they refused to put theirs for security reasons (the whole online thing kinda freaks them out a little.) Any other ideas? And yes that is a fantastic deal and I am so grateful you would be willing to do that.

I am 15 sir? I never stated anywhere that I was 18. Now I am unaware if there is a rule that states you must be 18 to be on here but if there is I am deeply sorry for jumping over that little piece of information.  By law, I CAN NOT have a job, and CAN NOT have a drivers licence, but merely a learners permit or just a permit. I know I might have made a stupid mistake (very stupid indeed) of asking and almost "begging" for a new club to help my game of golf, but I am learning. I am becoming more and more mature. So I apologize for the mix up to everyone.

Wow - certainly not doing yourself any favors on here!!

I was caddying at the local club when I was 12 years old....also cut lawns. Lots of friends had a paper route.....to say you cannot have a job is an asinine comment!!!

There is no "mix up". You asked for someone to give you something and you appear to be a particularly ungracious young man.Get off your backside and go from door to door and ask if people have any odd jobs you can do to EARN some money. And please don't make the predictable response that your parents won't let you out of the house for fear of what may happen to you. Use some initiative and learn some manners.Own your actions.

? I had a job when I was 14. Didn't pay much, but I could have bought a cheap driver.

I'm 18 and work forty hour weeks during what is supposed to be a relaxing summer before I start my freshman year at Yale.

I think most would agree with me when I say that working your tail off and paying your dues easily beats having a club sent to you for free.

I have applied for jobs. I tried to be a caddy at this championship course that ryder cups have played on in the past, but I wasn't selected in the "raffel" they had. In the winter I go around shoveling driveways. At the range I sell lessons to people (cheap, but effective) and the only reason I dont mow lawns in the summer is A) My dad said he didnt want to waste gas since the prices are so high but Im sure if I raise the price someone will go for it and B) there is a heat advisory for the past week and will continue for the next week and a drought. So that means not only is the grass not growing at a consistent rate with the sunlight, but also it is just plain too hot out (right now it is 102 degrees.) I do work and I swear I am not a lazy kid. And no, there is no excuse to my parents "not letting me go" outside.
