Probably much less of an effect than the symptoms it will relieve.

Yep. If you're not feeling well and taking it makes you feel better, it will improve your game! :-D

Except you will be disqualified because I'm calling the course and telling them you're on PEDs!!!!!!!!!

Kidding ... I take Advil before every round of golf because I have disc issues in my back.  Not taking it would affect my game a lot more than taking it.

Now, if you said you were in a lot of pain and were considering vicodin or percocet or something of that ilk???   I would strongly recommend against it!  I'm a big guy (6-3, 260) and that stuff makes me all wacky!  I avoid it at all costs.

Good luck!

I eat that stuff like peanuts.  It's hell to get old......

Taking tylenol before a round ensures at least a round of 100+.  Take with caution!

Or at least that is my excuse when I shoot that high..

I know many golfers who take pain killer before every round. I think it will have little significance on your score.

I take 3 Advil as soon as I roll out of the bed when I have an early tee time.   If it's late in the day and I'm squeezing in a few holes before dark, not so much.

You should be fine - try to concentrate on your game and not the fact you have it in your system.. this will probably only serve to cause a reverse 'placebo'! Good luck.

I have some arthritis and always take a couple of Ibuprofen before I tee off.  Sure helps.

It's tylenol. Unless you have liver failure it's not going to effect your game much more than remember what you are for dinner last night.

If you have pain, then yes, because you will be playing with less pain.

Tried two Aleve for the first time Thursday morning before playing. It cured my two month old backache completely! That stuff is good medicine.

2,3,4 advil ?....pffft. you guys are amateurs. id never consider less than 6 when my back hurts and will go 8 without thinking twice. then take 8 at the turn. tylenol is like water, it does zero for me. now if you wanna talk oxy, those help the most and 2 will make me cross eyed 25 minutes after taking them and will last 2 holes, then it wears off a bit and pain is gone

I'm not starting a drug debate here, but you do realize that 16 Advils within the 3 hour period of time that you are talking about would likely cause you some serious issues and sickness -- especially if this type of behavior is repeated often.

I have 3 herniated discs in my back and low-grade Spondylolisthesis (12 years of football). For me, the Sciatica pain from the discs can't even be subsided with Oxy, Percs or Vics. Unfortunately, it's more or less stretching and trying to take OTC drugs that are not as potent so I don't damage my liver, because I love my beer as well.

Anyway, for anyone else with back pain (lower, mid, upper), I recommend trying Bayer Back and Body . Just read the label carefully to make sure you're able to take it. It also has caffeine in it as well, so be sure that you're not overly sensitive prior to trying it. This is the one and only drug that takes a slight edge off of my pain and it boggles my mind because it's no where near as potent as prescription pain meds.

EDIT: Not trying to derail the thread, though it seems that the OP already has their answer. I just know that many other golfers with pain will be reading so I wanted help the rest of the readers out if possible.
