Still, their number is close enough.

Down to a 2.7 thanks to some good tournament scores recently. In fact 9 of the 10 scores that count for my handicap have the tournament "T" beside them.

I like using an android phone app for distances during my round, and for keeping track of my score and stats.  But any rounds I play using it can't be used for a USGA handicap index (according to what I've read on the Missouri Golf Association web site).

So my cost would be $25 or whatever annually to my local golf club (or $55 annually to do it through the MGA website), plus paying for a separate distance-measuring device.  (And remembering to charge it up, etc.)

At my skill level, I'm not sure it's worth it yet.

If you make some breakthrough and get to scratch in a year you would have proof that you were a +20. :-)).

That would drive me crazy until I got to the bottom of it, but then I'm a numbers nerd.

(And it might be only 0.2 off now, but if there's an error who knows how big it could get at any given time.)

It does drive me crazy, but I have no way of knowing how the Golf Logix number is calculated so I have no way of finding the problem.

I'm guessing it is just a variation in how many rounds it uses, but I just try to forget about it since I can't know for sure.

Me too.  Sometimes I look forward to that email, sometimes not so much.

LOL ... yeah it didn't bother me when 15 days ago I jumped from 6.8 to 6.9, because, after all, it's still a "6" ...... but this time ???

Ha Ha, I can't complain at all to be honest.  I essentially have changed everything about how I swing the club this year and have still dropped from 4.5 in spite of all the changes, and losing my ability to putt.  With trying to get used to everything it is not bad at all really.  We can't all do it in a year...
