They're saying the course won't bake sufficiently for it to dry out, so it may be a dart throwing contest ... again. Scores may go lower today before settling on Sunday when the tightness factor takes over.

Justin Rose is in form. 29 for his back nine yesterday, can see him shooting 3/4 under today. However i think scott will win it

This is like Congressional, except no one is getting away from the field.

It doesn't feel like a major when you're a nervous putt away from a 62 ... on a Friday. Now Sunday, it's different.

I'd love to see Dufner hang in there.

I think someone gets to at least 10 under.  68/69 from Kuchar, Scott, or Furyk doesn't seem unlikely.......and about all Dufner has to do is not back up.

15th is a wonderful pin placement today!! players hitting on to the narrow par 3 with a 7ish iron with the pin back right next to the water.

I think the PGA didn't wnt to see Oak Hill play this easy, but it is what it is. I think if they could have done it over again, they would probably put some tougher pin positions the first two days and grow out the rough a little more off the fairway. Too many guys are missing the fairway and reaching the green. Other than the Masters, it shouldn't be like that at a major. Merion played very soft but they penalized guys with bad drives and put in some extremely difficult pin positions.

Overreaction re: Tiger, IMO. I definitely think there is a mental hurdle for him with majors right now. Anyone can see that. BUT... He still has 20-40 chances or more, and he will get 15. Once he busts that mental barrier and gets 15, it'll be downhill till 19 I think. Certainly, he needs to get moving, but he still has time. Plenty of time. Won't be this week, but it will come.

Next year will tell the story. He's won a major on 3 of the 4 venues and the 4th venue he's finished T-3 and 2nd. If he goes 0-for-4 next year, my guess is Jack's record is safe.

I know people say "He has plenty of more chances", but once you hit 40, it's hard to keep up your pace. Ask Jack Nicklaus. And Tiger is prone to injuries. It's going to be hard once he hits that age. But we'll see.

People have been saying "next year will tell the story" for two years now. He's not getting to 19. Nine wins in the last two years and poor (for him) showings in every major. Not even a factor come Sunday.

Why don't you just write him an email and tell him to quit? It would save all of us a lot of time.

so can anyone else not watch the pga championship because of time warner cable?  like, i can't even watch it online because they block cbssports.com live feed.

are there any alternatives to watching it, or do i have to go to a sports bar or something?

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
