Very happy with the way my Niners played on Sunday. We have to cut down on some silly penalties. I love what Kaep was able to do FROM THE POCKET. His legs are there when he needs them but he clearly can be a great pocket passer in this league. Good Riddance Alex Smith AKA King of the Check-down.

Niners looked okay, offense looked good, defense gave up more points than they should have

The Niners' run defense was great, but laid off towards the tail end of the game. The secondary has always been an issue and it was mostly Rodgers' arm that got them down field anyway.

Looking forward to this Sunday. It looks to be more of a low-scoring defensive game by the Niners and Seahawks, but let's hope I'm wrong and the Niners score 7 TDs

The only knock on SF is the O seems to slow down/stall in the red zone. I'd like to see them more efficient in that regard.

So the Bucs pick isn't looking too hot.

Patriots sucked yesterday for the most part. Defense was okay - one TD was on that Ridley fumble return and another was after a turnover that left the Bills only a few yards from the end zone, and the Bills took advantage of the Pats basically playing prevent defense with just a few seconds to go in the first half. Other than that, the Bills only had one big, sustained drive that led to a TD. But they looked sloppy.

Dennard looked good, but he's in legal trouble, and could face jail time. That would force Kyle Arrington (who is actually pretty darn good as a nickel CB, but sucks on the outside) to matchup against a WR1 or WR2, which is scary.

I thought during the preseason that the Bills had a chance to be pretty good (I picked them at 7-9, and thought that the over was more likely than under), and I really liked EJ Manuel.

On the other hand, the Pats' offense was brutal. Ridley deserved his benching, and although Vereen was awesome, he's going to be out a month. Sudfeld pulled a hamstring at some point, but it's not like he was doing anything anyway. Thompkins was brutal.

I'm still amazed that Brandon Lloyd is a free agent. I know he had fewer YAC last year than I did, but they had Thompkins run almost Lloyd's exact role in the offense from last season, and he just couldn't make the same catches. Amendola looks great if he can stay on the field.

And I swear to Tebow if meenman comments on this with anything vaguely spygate- or Hernandez-related, I'll delete it in less time than Brandon Spikes was on the field before being taken off with dehydration (about 10 minutes).

The only reason belicheat has not fallen on his face yet is that the rest of the AFC least is week at best.

Luckily it means that the pansies are not battle tested come playoff time - so I predict yet another year without a legitimate super bowl ring.

Bills fan here. Feel cautiously optimistic about the team. Could see a 7-9 maybe even 8 and 8 season this year. Like what I am seeing from EJ Manuel.

Mike's Musings:

-The Raiders look much better than I expected. They still lost the game, but I thought they would go into Indy and get trounced, they were right in it. I was thinking this was going to be a 1-15 type year for them. I am more optimistic.

-Kaepernick can play, but the 49er receiving core is bad. If Boldin gets hurt they are in deep du-du. He can throw to V Davis, but that is about it.

-Steven Jackson looked very good and is a nice addition to the Falcons, but the Falcons O-Line is not as good as I thought. The Saints were able to get pressure with 4, other teams with better pass rushes are going to give them problems.

-Jacksonville should call Tim Tebow. Gabbert is not going to do much there and they have little chance of winning anything so why not put butts in the seats with Tebow Mania.

I would not have started him against the Jet's D.  They are a big run stuffing D and Ryan is very good at defending against a division rival.  He put 8 to 9 in the box for most of the night.  Without a TE, that was a good strategy against the Pats.

I am not a fan of his shock jock personality, but Rex Ryan is a hell of a defensive coach.  He disguises his formations really well and gets the most out of his players.

Safe to say the patriots and Belicheat are going to be a non factor this year. As shitty as that Pats Jets game was, seeing Brady cry, bitch, and moan on the sidelines was worth watching the rest of the garbage. Brady is in for a long season. In other news, I'm gonna be rocking my Rams 2000 super bowl champ gear as I watch them destroy the Falcons tomorrow.

I disagree, I could see the Bills pull off a few more wins against the Jets, Dolphins, and maybe Cleveland or Baltimore, and get to 7 or 8 wins. I think EJ Manuel is the real deal. Also, just so Steelers fans feel better, Maurkice Pouncey was injured by noted Patriot-killer Bernard Pollard, who has injured Tom Brady, Wes Welker, and Rob Gronkowski, and was the last person ever to tackle Aaron Hernandez. I can only advise that you guys lock up Roethlisberger and Le'Veon Bell somewhere the next time the Bengals roll into town.
