Rosaline on Hulu, par. It's what I expected. It was funny in parts, particularly to watch someone behave like it's 2022 or so while still being set in the 1500s or whatever. Just with the language, etc. Set against the Romeo and Juliet story, this is the story of Rosaline. Kinda like Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, it's a full movie to a very supporting character(s).

Just read there are going to be making a sequel to Twister, and call it Twisters...

twister.jpg?w=1000&h=562&crop=1

"Twisters" will be released in theaters in the summer of 2024.

Twister, gets a tap in birdie for me. Somehow in the mid 90's made the tornados seem super intimidating.

I am split on this because it just shows me that Hollywood has lost all ability to come up with new ideas. Yet, I kind of want to see what a movie about tornados will look like with current CG. I hope they do not make them look unrealistic (supercharging them). Think the movie, The Day After Tomorrow (gets a bogey 😛) where the weather affects kind of seem to ridiculous for how serious the movie took itself. They need the CG to make these tornados look as realistic and frightening as possible. I think in real life they are pretty terrifying.

Also, the title is Twisers. Like, the first movie had multiple twisters in it and it was just called Twister. How is Twisters a good name for the movie. I think Twister 2 would be much better. Maybe Twister 2, with some subtitle of some sort. That is fine. Twisters is just meh.

I think you wanted it to be called "Twister with a twist". Ah!

I would definitely recommend watching it. You won't regret it except for Aubrey's pitiful attempt at Spanish in one scene

I don't particularly care for the rating system that's used here

No, you'd rather go with a horrendously fine-grained decimal system. Ha ha. 😄

2. Close Encounters of the Third Kind

3. Shawshank Redemption

4. Double Indemnity

Bullet Train… I mean… is it "good"? No. But is it a super gory fight from the start to the end, with lots of action and good sequences and gore and blood and guts? Yeah.

It's kinda good in that sense.

I give it… a par. Because it's not good, but it is.

Avatar (the original one), par. It was better than I thought (I'm not a big fan of super-CG movies, Sci-Fi type movies, etc.). I knew the whole story about how the humans were the invading species and the Na'vi were like the Native Americans in a lot of ways, and while that story was better than I thought… it was 2:30 (the new one is 3:00?!)… but the CG and whatnot just wasn't at quite a high enough level to where it didn't just look slightly "weird" the whole time. I understand that facial expressions matter, but I almost think they should have gone away from human looking faces because the expressions were so awkward.

I got this when I watched a blue ray version of the movie years ago. It just looked bad on my TV. I never got that feeling watching it in the theater. Though I only saw it in 3D, maybe that helped with how they filmed it.

Watched a couple in last two weeks:

Shawshank Redemption..  Eagle on a re-watch (has been almost 20 years so didn't remember a lot..). It's been a while since I have felt a bit lumpy in the throat at the end of a movie. Oh, the humanity..

Wind River.. Eagle. Everything is a bit sharper against the brutish beauty of a Wyoming winter. The drama itself is edgy all the way to an awesome ending.

Wind River is a movie I could watch over and over.  The storyline and the brutality of the Wyoming winters and landscape.  We have a house south of Jackson, WY and the views in that movie always take me back when we are sitting in Nevada.

Definitely an eagle in my book.

    • Okay, so last night I went to my local place that does PXG fittings. I had every intention of testing out the PXG Allan Putter... which I did. But then, I ended up making either the greatest purchase ever or the worst. Time will tell. I ended up getting fit for and buying a PXG secret weapon... Yeah, I impulse bought a mini-driver.  🤷‍♂️ Clearly PXG saw me coming. Because it's a really good looking club and ... I like shiny things. They've done a great job on the look of this mini driver. I mean it looks great. When sitting down by the ball it looks like a 3-wood. It's actually kind of hard to tell from the top which is bigger the 0311XF or the Secret Weapon. But then you pick it up and realize there's more face than a 3 wood. I think the best way to describe it would be it's the look and color scheme of the Black Ops 3-wood, but the footprint of the 0311XF with a slightly taller face. Which in my opinion looks awesome.  My swing right now is a bit of a work in progress. But I was able to hit the club off the deck and off a tee, with about a 10 yardish advantage hitting off the tee. I also found I had the best results teeing it pretty low. I know, I was hitting it off a mat, so I had a perfect lie every time, but I was very surprised how well it performed off the deck. Currently I don't try to hit my 3-wood unless I get a perfect or near perfect lie anyway, so I think this club will be just fine as a 3-wood replacement.  One thing that was kind of cool, is the best shaft for me turned out to be the Hzrdus Black, 6.0 60. It was a pretty clear winner; Even in terms of feel. That shaft is one of the no upcharge shafts. I will say the Ventus Blue 6 Velocore performed very well. The Ventus Blue 6 Velocore is $300 upgrade. The Ventus also looked great. It's a great color, but the Hzrdus actually gave me better numbers so kudos to the folks at Project X.  Lastly, I broke all my personal rules when it comes to buying golf clubs.  1 - Never buy a club after only hitting for one session. Come back and see if you can repeat the results before buying .... I didn't do that. I just bought it.  2 - It's always a good idea to wait until the newest models come out and then buy the previous or even 2 years back models deeply discounted. ... I didn't do that.  3 - Never impulse buy a club. Always be certain the club fills a certain need in your bag. ... I didn't do that. I was perfectly happy with my 3-wood, until....  4 - Always bring the club you want to replace with you so that you can test it side by side on the same day against the new club. .... I didn't do that either.  5 - Never buy new clubs while you are in the middle of a swing change. ... Looks like I'm 0 for 5.  So, I'm probably an idiot for impulse buying a mini-driver. But man, it's so cool. And I can't wait to get it.
    • Feels are personal. Some people will feel like it's a hit, some will feel like it's a swing. Some will feel like it's one and then have other swings, even in the same round, that feel like the other. "Swing" and "hit" are feel words.
    • I have reviewed the entire Swing Thoughts forum and this question has been answered many times in many ways. I am posting to seek help in clearing my own thoughts. Hogan says for the average golfer to "keep any conscious hand action out of his swing". 6 pages later he also says "Hit the ball as hard as you can with both hands".  This appears to be a contradiction. My drives are respectable (I can find them) when I focus on swinging with loose wrists. If I try to "hit" the ball it all turns to doo doo. Strangely, I can "hit" a 7 iron - and it is more satisfying than just swinging at it! I have been told that my swing is fast. Advice please
