The Imitation Game - par. Normally, I'd give a higher score to something like this. Great actors, spies, history, but it's a bit too conventional and gets some of the history wrong, which normally doesn't bother me. Still a lot of people don't know who Alan Turing was, or Bletchley Park. It's not out of the realm of possibility if they didn't accomplish what they did, we'd all be sieg heiling each other today.

Are you kidding!!!  I can't wait!

on a side note.. the fact that Captain America was able to nudge the hammer is simply amazing.. I didn't expect it at all.

I will be the first to admit that I don't really know much about all the different scenarios and stories within the comic book series, just what I remember from my younger years.  I wonder how interesting of a read it would be to look into the actual comic books and the different events.  I am sure they just give us glimpses of things, and they make stuff up as they go along.  For example, could superman hold the hammer?

Well, since Ethan Hawke is enjoying a resurgence, I thought I'd post this super creepy movie probably not many have watched. Did I say this was creepy? It's disturbing . So disturbing, I'll give it a birdie.

so im the kind of pansy who can barely make it through the trailer....it always makes me wonder, when theres movies like this one that has children acting in it, does that mess up the kids?  i know i would never be the same if i was involved with a movie like that as a child, and i would never allow my own child to act in something like this.  i just cant imagine a child being unfazed by this if they acted in it.

No.  My wife and I really liked the second one, but love the first.  If we're flipping stations and it happens to be on FX (or whichever channel likes to show it often) we almost always stop there.  It never gets old.

My favorite exchange (obviously ;) when he first breaks them all out of the Hydra prison and Irish guy glares at Asian looking guy and says:

"We taking everybody?"

Asian guy rolls his eyes and says, "I'm from Fresno, Ace." :-P

I like them both. IMO, the second is probably the best superhero movie made to date. On the other hand, the first is an awesome period piece that oozes charm. Plus Hayley Atwell is in it, and that girl is hotter than the hinges hanging on the gates of hell. DC released Justice League: Throne Of Atlantis digitally this week. It's a solid par for an animated flick. I liked that they are finally having some continuity in their universe. The violence level seems to be increasing steadily with each passing video, which is nice. I'd say it's one of their better efforts, and much better than All Star Superman, which gets a double bogey from me. Way too much going on for a 80 minute animated feature. The new Avengers trailer looks great. Just take my money already and release it early!

I'd be very hesitant. I guess it would depend on the film and what exactly goes into the scenes. If it were my son in The Shining or my daughters in The Shining, I guess it would be okay.

Now that Agent Carter is on, I bet some minds have been changed.

I give you - what if movie posters told the truth?

Oh, and John Wick. Quadruple bogey. What a terrible movie. Wait, can I give it a +5, wait, +6?

American Sniper - birdie. Really solid movie, very intense, some great action sequences and Bradley Cooper was awesome. Gives you some insight into the mental burdens put on these soldiers.

Boyhood - Par. Being filmed over 12 years with the same actors was cool and props to the director but I thought the story was pretty average.

I saw it tonight as well. I agree completely and give it a birdie also. Very well done. I have read up quite a bit on Kyle and Cooper did a nice job.

I-Robot - Birdie... I like Will Smith and there was enough action and humor to keep me interested the whole movie

The Babadook. Have been meaning to watch this. When I heard the director deserved an Oscar nom, I watched it. It's a horror movie, but it's more. It's like an indie horror. I can see why people recommended Kent for best director. Birdie. I can't reveal why I really liked it without spoiling it. People said it's the scariest thing they've ever seen, but I didn't think it was that bad. There were a couple of jump scares that were startling though.

So I just watched Under the Skin. I have no idea what to rate it. All I know is that it was hypnotically mesmerizing and stunning to watch.

I know, eh? Did you see my review further up thread? Incredibly strange movie, but strangely powerful. I couldn't stop thinking about it for days.

Alright, here's a weird one. I watched "Under the Skin" While watching it, I was thoroughly annoyed with the pace, overly dramatic music and the fact that they never bother to explain to viewer ANYTHING THAT'S GOING ON. If I had of posted this right after watching the movie I'd have given it a triple bogey, but here's the thing, I haven't been able to get the images and themes of this movie out of my head for going on three days now. The more I reflect on it, the more I like it... Eagle. A very, very strange Eagle, but I'll be damned if it wasn't in fact an Eagle nonetheless. Oh, and despite starring Johansson, it's a Scottish movie and very, very un-American in style. Bonus Points were awarded for getting see Scarlette Johansson's tasty bits.

The soundtrack is quite mesmerizing, isn't it? Some of the people she talked to on the streets from the truck - not actors, had no idea they were shooting a movie.

    • It is hard to roll your trail palm underneath the grip (and further up in the palm) which puts the wrist in flexion? What am I missing?
    • Trail hand wrist in flexion at P1? Same GIF as above. That's tough to do.
    • Yes, correct. Trail hand wrist in flexion at address. And grip up in palm.  I mean he is hitting duck hooks. You can hit them with any path with trail palm turned under the grip. I wouldn't eliminate that as a possibility sight unseen.  Extreme outward path highly unlikely for a high handicapper. $5 says trail palm cradling the grip from way under.
    • @ChetlovesMer, I think @GolfLug is talking about almost having the right or left hand under the club. Like extreme strong grip. I would say DJ has one of the stronger grips. The V in his right-hand points towards his right shoulder. Like up his right arm.  I can see two ways to hit a duck hook. In my mind, a duck hook is caused by an extreme in to out swing path. I do not think grip strength is highly correlated with swing path.  DJ has a very strong grip from a PGA Tour perspective, and he hit fades off the tee. Morikawa has a strange weak left hand, but strong right hand and hits fades. Rory has more of a neutral grip and hits draws.  Yep, this ^
    • That'd great. I love indoor practice in the winter. In all seriousness. don't be afraid to go out and get lessons. It can take a while to find a swing coach that's right for you. I've had a myriad of them, some good, some not so good. One that I'm actually friends with, but he wasn't right for me as a coach. I work with @iacas these days, and he really helps me... I call him Yoda. I'm sure I improve more because of his lessons than I ever would on my own. Finding a good coach can be like finding the right spouse. ... possibly more difficult depending on where you live.  Secondly, don't be embarrassed to post a MySwing thread. A lot of golfers are like "eh, I don't want everyone to see how crappy my swing is." Don't be that golfer. Be the golfer who says "My swing needs work. Here's where I am at the moment."  Anyway, that's my 2 cents.  Enjoy the indoor facility, but time the snow melts away in the spring, you'll be ready to go.
