Or doing something else.  Yes, I would think so too.  Zeph answered with such authority earlier, I thought he might be in the know, evidently not.  Thanks Mike.

Sorry, I don't. I got my information from recent articles that listed Joe as caddie and Chris as coach. Based on a few other articles I've read, Joe has been working a bit with Tiger during the year, but after 30 years on tour and knowing Tiger will want him on the bag, he can take some time off, maybe do a little work for Tiger and get a little pay. Even if he didn't do anything, Tiger could easily pay him for doing nothing just to avoid him going to someone else. I also read in an article from spring this year that Joe was enjoying some time off work to spend time with his family.

Tiger should be more considerate of @colin007 before committing to tournaments in the future. :-)

Possibly legit info, or idle rumor?

He's had short game issues after returning to the tour more than once before. It's not exactly a big surprise if his chipping is a bit off at this point. People like calling it yips, as if it's a big deal, but he always got it back together after playing for a while.

He looks more limber than before. Guessing his WITB hasn't changed if he's talking about trying different clubs, can't tell from the video what clubs he's using.

I don't put too much stock in what Secret Tour Pro says. He's been wrong about Woods changing pros and other things.

I think he is better off trying to play his way back into form but I guess with the amount of attention he is going to get first time out the fear of underperforming is really starting to bite.  It must be tough mentally not being able to do the thing you always thought you were the best in the world at doing.

Commentary on slow swing speed. Hard to tell if he's dialing it back for clinic or protecting his back. Have to wait and see.

Nor I. I wonder why people give him any credit at all these days. He's gotten numerous things dead wrong.

Same here, especially when he posts stuff like this.

    • In response to the first question, yes - I have reduced my average score in 9-hole league rounds by about 3 strokes.  As the attached plot chart shows, my high scores decreased and my low scores also deceased.  So I am scoring in an overall lower range. For the second question, I expect to make some improvement next year based on the results I am seeing in my recent practice rounds.  However, I have noticed that "plateaus" in scoring (and many stats) can persist for long time periods and can be permanent.  With advancing age and decreasing swing speed I may be mostly just working to maintain my current skill level.  I do expect a more consistent range of scoring as the result of frequent practice and overall playing experience.
