Didn't want to start a new thread, and it's Tiger related so here it is...

So in recent months I've been having a crisis of sorts...perhaps an existential crisis? IDK. Anyways, we don't have cable, I watch whatever free apps there are on Roku, and there's a PGA Tour channel that replays lots of tournaments from the past twenty years or so. Sometimes they'll go on a Tiger kick and replay a bunch in a row of his wins from the early 2000s.

My crisis is this - It's becoming more and more apparent how much better the guys from the past ten years are than the guys from '97-2010ish. I'm watching Tigs beat up on guys who *seem* like chumps compared to the Rorys and DJs and Spieths and Rahms and Koepkas of today.

I'm watching leaderboards filled with well known names, but who in my mind aren't in the same league. Guys like Scott McCarron, Bob Tway, Jerry Kelly, Bob Estes, Steve Flesch....

Even some of the bigger names like David Duval, Justin Leonard, Ernie Els, etc, don't seem quite as formidable anymore.

I guess I just don't know what to believe anymore. It's like my whole world is a lie.

The Tiger Woods of the 2000s would have dominated the Tiger Woods of this decade too. He was just that much better than everyone that decade. The fact that he’s 44 and can still beat these very talented young players now just reinforces that. Even Phil, who is 50, can hold his own with these players. So it’s not a lie.

There are more of these good players now than in the 2000s for sure. But they come and go. We thought Spieth was going to dominate. Rory is great at times, as is Brooks and BD, JT, Rose, etc., but they can’t seem to string it together for long. No one will ever break the consecutive streak of cuts or weeks at number 1. At least not in my lifetime.

That shot at 1:57 is so cool with the ball leaving and then re-entering the frame...

I was definitely surprised to see him on the range after the round. Expected that would be out of the cards these days.

I would guess that it is more of a 'cool down' and tempo session than a practice or fixit session.

But then again, what the hell do I know?

It was practice. He was looking at video and his data/numbers.

Reports of using a longer putter to take some strain off the lower back; lve not seen how much difference the newer putter is in length, I wonder kinda selfishly since my back restricts my freedom s, especially later in the round.

Not a big surprise, but here it is, he is playing the Northern Trust.

It’s official — Tiger Woods will be in the field at the Northern Trust when the FedEx Cup Playoffs start next week. He tweeted the news on Friday...

Ray Floyd played some his best golf using an extra long putter.  He used it conventionally, not anchored in any way.

    • Range again today. A few freezers and a few smoothies. If I add a little speed I swing further arms go deeper and lower and more across again. Really like where this freezer got to on backswing:   This is a smoothie (ish). Clubhead tracks up the hands nicely but the things go a bit wrong: At normal speed: Lastly one shortish pitch shot. Pitching some days I come out and can drop it on the flag. Other days it’s going sideways. Like missing right or left by 10 yards from 50 yards and nothing in between. I suspect it’s from the hands coming out and the cut across. If I release it on that line it’s going left. If I hold it off it’s going right and then it’s timing. When it’s off it’s off. Feels like if I can get that under control it will tighten up a lot.
    • Disney's Lake Buena Vista Golf Course. Which I believe used to host a LPGA tournament. Fantastic course, compared to what I typically play. So fantastic I carded a 115! in my defense it was 90 degrees by 9 am in late July. Not to mention whatever grass they had around the green was absolutely foreign to me, I could not get my wedge through it. The entire grass came up like it was a piece of shag carpet. Suffice to say my short game was a mess. but good times!
    • Nice Berger choke job to the Anchor Man who putted well.
    • The most important thing in my mind was Akshay responding all day Sunday. He was 2 over and five back at the turn and just get grinding. bridies galore and then on the fifth he bogeyed and on the sixth he played it far enough right that if he missed a little left it would be right by the hole. It was and he made the eagle. Stayed in it, kept playing great and kept getting pars. He very much deserved the win.
