I know I'm new to this board but I would like to start a thread based on the above Jim Carey film where he has to tell the truth, IOW he can't lie. I have only had contact with a few people but I am going to throw the cat among the pigeons and say it as I see it.

Lihu A bit dense but pleasant enough.

Mvmac Knowledgeable (I think), can be touchy and always agrees with a guy called Erik.

MS256 Know it all with bullying tendencies (of course this is unfair but I want to ruffle a few feathers) but he can take criticism

Golfingdad Don't you all just love him

iacas He definitely has some superiority here and he knows it

That's my stab at Liar, Liar. Who's brave enough to continue.

BTW I'm a really nice guy but when you are far enough away from me and aren't an immediate threat, I can be a little 'trolly'.

Interesting move.  All internet forum boards have personalities; ours is pretty good aside from the occasional newb that takes things somewhat personally.  I'll posit that you can't judge us after two weeks and a handful of posts.  If you love golf, have a personality, and can laugh at things (including yourself) then you can't help but love this place.

Well now I'm disappointed.  After all this time, I'd expect that he would be getting more clever, but that's not the case.  He's just as tiresome and transparent as always before.

Agreed though on Mvmac being (I think) knowledgable ;-)

And Erik doesn't have a superiority complex. He's ripped on his own swing for years, even when he was a 1.0 index. If anything, the guy could use some of our encouragement!

      What Callaway Driver and 3 Wood to Buy Given My Age, Skill, Level Etc?

      So to start with I’m 67 years old and just returned to the game a month or so ago after a 30+ year break. . To give you an idea of how long I’ve been away from golf, there were no hybrids last time I got serious about it. I’m enjoying it and seeing gains/improvement every time out. That said, I’m playing with antique woods (Old Taylormade Burners) and since I’m playing with Callaway irons (2004 BBs) I’d like to stick with the brand and upgrade to Callaway woods - at least a driver and a 3 for now.   For a glimpse of my ability, I hit the 3 wood 200 yards and more or less straight, and I think I newer tech clubs might help. Also I’m 6’5” and these clubs are a bit short for me, by 1 1/2” or so.   So looking at the gillions of perfectly fine looking Callaway drivers on eBay I’m completely overwhelmed and under-informed. I’m also doing this on a self-imposed budget since I’m not good enough to warrant new, exotic, pricey stuff and I’m pretty sure anything made in the last 20 years will do nicely.    So given all that, anyone have any specific suggestions on a good/prefered model Callaway driver that can be had for around $50? If I earn better gear by improving my performance I’ll go after it then, get fitted for clubs again, all that. But for now my goal is bogey golf so I’m limiting my golf allowance accordingly.    Thanks, cheers, and happy golfing.  As examples, I’m looking at RAZR, BBII, X460, Fusion FT series, Diablo, etc. and I can’t tell if they are all good and I should just shop price or if one or more are preferable over others. TIA…
