Watching Bubba on the 18th was the most infuriating thing ever. He needs to be slapped when he starts whining like that.

I didn't see whining as much as WTF shock.

Yeah, he does the same thing as several other pros when they miss putts due to bad reads that they were confident in.  The big difference is that he doesn't give his WTF look to the hole or the sky or somewhere off in space, but directly at his caddie every time.  So it always looks like he's yelling at his caddie.

I love how you can clearly hear the roars in the distance on this course.

Rory appears to be taking the scenic route on this fourth hole.

That was a weird slice swing with a wood on that par 3 by Rory. Looked kinda OTT and awkward. Keegan +4 on Amen Corner today, taking him well over cut line.

Yeah but some are looking for something that isn't there. He can be a crab for sure but with that putt it appeared more like he was asking Ted "can you believe that". He didn't have a reason to rag on Ted for anything. Unless I missed it I didn't see him anywhere near Bubba when he was lining up the putt.

Phil needs birdie to make probable cut (+4). Decent drive but he's not too thrilled with it. Update: needs a 40 footer I think, with what Faldo says is. "sideways golf"

I agree .. but I was talking more about the perception.  People see the face of exasperation and can't hear the words, and they remember that video from last year that Kieran just posted, and they think "Oh, here he goes again, blaming his caddie for his screw up."

7 straight bogeys from the Top 5 Player...

This may be petty, but I hope Reed misses the cut so I don't have to watch him strut around in his Tiger Woods Underoos on Sunday.

Yours in earnest, Jason.

That is pretty petty. I'm kinda hoping he misses the cut too, but just so I don't have to listen to everybody complain about him. ;-)

It's still possible that the cut will move to +5.

I hate when these past champions, well past their prime, take up a spot for more deserving player. Oh wait, Freddie is -3, Jose M. O is even, Mize,Langer +2.  Guess they can play after all.

So now that Bubba is done doesn't feel as exciting. Now or very soon would be a good time to bail on work and head to the course. Already got my shoes on.

Correct. Wasn't clever for Reed to say it the first time, let alone all the others ;-)

It's possible. There are 4 guys on the course at +4, 4 guys on course at +3, 3 guys on the course at +2. It's playing tough now it seems. But 6 of those 10 need to drop to +5.

    • Is it? I bought the Stack radar to replace my PRGR based on what Stack told me! When I am swinging for speed, the PRGR would miss 50%-80% of my backswings due to a higher speed. The stack seldom misses those- at least for me.
    • As an analyst by nature, I would like to compare the scores under both systems. It is something we can easily do if we have the data. I actually thought the new system was less fair to those whose game was on the decline - like mine! Old: Best 10 of last 20 scores with the .96 multiplier. Course handicap excluded course rating and overall par. New: Best 8/20. Course handicap includes course rating -par. My understanding is Stableford caps scores at Net double bogey like stroke play. If so, handicap should be slower to rise because you are only using 8 versus 10 scores. If I am missing something, I am curious enough to  want to understand what that may be. My home course tees that I play are 72.1/154 now. My best score out here is 82. When my game started to decline, my handicap didn’t budge for 13 rounds because of good scores in my first 8! I know I am an anomaly but my handicap has increased almost 80% in the past few years (with only a few rounds this year). For a few months I knew I was losing every bet because my game was nowhere near my handicap. I suspect I have steamrolled a few nuances but that shouldn’t matter much. When I have modeled this with someone playing the same tees and course, one good round, or return to form, will immediately reduce the handicap by some amount.
