BBQ from The Commissary Germantown, (near Memphis) TN.  I've never met a single person who wasn't blown away by the food, the sauces and anything else from that place.  Truly a messy delight.

Ping G Fairway woods - 5 and 7 woods

I'm from Texas so, without question, I'd have Arron Franklin of Franklin's BBQ come and do a brisket smoke.  Beer, brisket . .sides of some kind or another . . .

Whoever is at that dinner will probably not remember the year's tournament - but they won't ever forget that dinner, lol.

It would be interesting to serve one of those ten-course dinners you'd normally eat at a Chinese wedding banquet. It would be fun just to see some of the whiskey tango foxtrot expressions before each course.

They'll see you coming from a mile away, lol.  Go with my brisket idea, instead.  If you've never experienced amazing TX bbq brisket . .you literally can't help but eat way more than you know you should.  And you pay for it big time!  Some of the older guys, especially, would suffer.  I wouldn't be surprised to see a WD or 2.  And the best part is . .the whole time they're eating it they KNOW they are setting themselves up for a hurtin - but they can't stop eating it.

I would definitely have steak and lobster on my menu.  Either filet mignon or ribeye.  A really good potatoes au gratin and creamed style corn.  Cheesecake and creme brulee for desert.

Crap...now I'm hungry.

Hmmmm....I'd go one of two ways.  First option would be a Spanish tapas-style dinner with:

  • Paella
  • Jamon Iberico (prime Spanish/Portuguese ham) with Manchego cheese
  • Chorizo al vino
  • Patatas bravas
  • Croquetes
  • Gambas al ajillo - (shrimp in garlic, olive oil and chili peppers)
  • Albondigas - (meatballs)
  • Tortilla de patatas
  • Calamares a la romana

All served with spanish red and white wine...probably from Ribera del Duero.  No clue on dessert but I'd probably opt for chocolate and churros and Catalan Creme.

Second would be a surf and turf.  Filet (with some marbling) and either lobster or seared scallops.  I actually like scallops just as much as lobster.  Sides would be mashed sweet potatoes, baked with a crust of brown sugar and pecans.  Brown butter asparagus and roasted brussel sprouts.

Dessert.  I always love pie, but might opt for something like a chocolate lava cake with vanilla ice cream.  That's a bit rich and heavy after a dinner like that though.  Perhaps just an assortment of gelato.  If thats the case then there must be salted caramel....

Wine would be Opus One.  I'm not picking up the tab, right?  :-)
