Theory blown after today's round...

I don't know about all this. Rory is a little too high-profile with his so-called romances. Which to me suggests that is he is probably gay.

Woz might be too, lucky guy! (pain meds)

or Dallas ...

May not work well in Ft. Worth, unless it's a Dallasite on the town.

Attractive woman -- Rory's Irish model. I think Woz is attractive and she has a bit of a vivacious, silly personality. Witness the infamous Rory Sleeping pic and her "Serena Butt" spoof on the tennis court. May have been too big of a personality for Rors.

Despite the pain meds, I cannot see the joy of a big caboose! And i have learned the multi-quote! WOOHOO! :banana:

You just need to keep the caboose in perspective... The older you get, the larger the slot limit gets...

The Sun reported today that McIlroy took former air stewardess Miss Gale out for a high-class meal at Chelsea Wine Bar in South Belfast to celebrate his victory in the Open last weekend.

A source told the paper the couple got together after meeting five weeks ago and their 'romance is blossoming'.

McIlroy had been spotted out with model Nadia Forde earlier this month, fuelling speculation they were an item.

But his meal with Miss Gale, who says online she likes 'fashion, whiskey, sunshine, travelling and fast cars', has buried those rumours."

I knew being tied down to Wozniak wasnt the best for him or his golf game.

And that is evidently true for her as well ... she's in the US Open semis right now - the furthest shes advanced in a major since she made it this far in the 2011 US Open  (the two of them starting dating in 2011, BTW). ;)

      I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.

      Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
