Wearing a watch will cost you 10-15 yards. Can anyone corroborate (or not) this?

It will take a tenth off of your 40 time.

I'm sure it would take a lot more than that from me. I think I would have trouble breaking 10 seconds at this point.

We have a guy in my club that does.  Rolex on the left, golf watch on the right.  Takes all kinds....

Hahahaha!!!  Too funny!

My take on watches...... I see bubba and phil often wear them during competition.  For me...it's not for me.   I wore a watch for many years, but would always take it off to play golf.   I don't even wear my wedding ring when I play golf!!  Being a lefty, it always bothered my grip.

Watches have almost become obsolete these days thanks to cell phones...IMO.    I carry my phone with me everywhere I go so what is the point of a wrist watch?  If I want to know the time, I look at my phone...LOL

Who the **** wears 2 watches?

I believe the two watches were worn to simulate the weight of a heavier watch, like a Rolex.

Oh, for some reason I thought they meant 2 on one wrist.

He (Andrew Rice) did.

The course where I work is close to the Eastern time zone so the time on phones is usually an hour off.

I've seen people skip the last few holes of their rounds or start playing speed golf because they thought they were late for something.

Helps with pace of play. ;-)

Curly Howard wears three.  That is how he tells the time.  You see the first watch is ten minutes slow every two hours and the second watch is 20 minutes fast every four hours.  The one in the middle is broken and stopped at 2 o'clock.

Back OT.  I think the data is BS.

Same for me, wedding ring stays home on golf days.  I do wear a golf watch, but will have to measure the difference in swing speed with and without it.

A wrist watch may or may not slow down your swing speed, but it will definitely identify you as an old fogey.

The wrist watch is dying. The reason: cell phones. If you carry a cell phone (which has the time) why do you need something strapped to your wrist with only one function--to tell you the time?

The under 30 generation (that grew up with cell phones) is all but abandoning the wrist watch. And when they see someone wearing a wrist watch, they aren't thinking "wow, what a great watch," they're thinking "what an old fogey."

I don't think so. 1.2 Billion watches sold each year. Rolex alone does 4.5 billion in rev per year. ( for comparison Taylormade/Adidas does les than 2) Just like golf equipment people buy watches for more reasons than telling time. Sorry off topic.

really?  because i see the opposite.  in fact, a lot of the young dudes i know are getting into bigger and bigger watches. (btw i'm 34, so not that old.)

for example - the invicta watches are pretty popular - super big and stupid heavy:

I agree with the above posters. Wearing a nice timepiece is about more than telling time. I wear a G-Shock while I work. So much more convenient to look at my wrist for the time (as well as other functions) and the added bonus of being able to do it when my hands are dirty.

As far as I can tell, many buy clocks more for the fashion than the practicality of it.

As for the generations below 30, smart watches are here, and if it's got Twitter, Facebook and Instagram they'll jump on it.

I agree. Tech companies need a new market and the vacated wrist is one such market. Dunno when tech'ed out glasses will lose the douchebag status.

Since your watch has been watching all of that sex, it might have picked up a couple of tips you can use to get your cell phone turned on.
