I'm way too excited for this tournament.
Great field and super pumped to get this going. Lets do this Tiger!

I'm really excited for this tournament as well, especially after seeing Tiger swing the other day. Can't wait to see how it works in competition.
You guys are excited? This is me....

I'll believe it when I see it and I'll believe it when he hits his first awful shot. But, I really like Tiger's attitude right now. He seems hungry yet positive and like he has a new attitude. Also really impressed with the swings they showed of him. Doesn't look like he trying to kill the ball. His swing so far looks fluid and smooth and most importantly comfortable and conservative on his now fragile body. I think that is the most important part. Again, we obviously need to see a full 72 hole tournament from him, but I do like the direction he could be heading.

My question is - how does a limited field event (I'm guessing 2nd smallest - behind the Grand Slam 2 day affair) like this have OWGR points awarded for playing in it?

So based off last year - ZJ got 46 points for winning this, and 46 points for winning Hyundai TOC (also limited field but 30 players). Also, last year DJ got 2.4 points, the same as top 50 in a major.

I can see why players play in it, especially those who reside in Fla.

Players play, tough players win!

I don't have an answer or know anything about this, however, I can say that the guys last night on TGC (Tripp, John Feinstein, and I forget the hosts name) were all asking the same rhetorical.  They said that there are now something like 9 of these "no cut" invitational events that award OWGR points and that that is wrong.  They said the events are great but that they just shouldn't award the points.

I don't really care much one way or the other, frankly.

Dunno if Fowler is playing, but w/Woods's recent endorsement, I just gotta say, if Ricky Fowler asks you to go to the motorcross with him and do some riding. Just no. Just say no! Do not, be a tiger.

Keegan is playing with a standard putter.

Quote:

WINDERMERE, Fla. – Keegan Bradley is no stranger to the short putter.

He has practiced with it regularly at home in South Florida and tinkered with it at this year’s Memorial tournament, but he still draws a crowd when he sets out with one in his bag.

Bradley plans to use a standard-length model at this week’s Hero World Challenge and also used the non-anchored model at last month’s WGC-HSBC Champions. That doesn’t mean, however, he has fully converted.

“I’m trying to work my way into it. It feels comfortable, actually,” Bradley said following his pro-am round on Wednesday at Isleworth.

I am guessing that if these tournaments (smaller fields or invitationals) did not come with world ranking points guys would be less inclined to play in them. Making the tournaments less appealing. If my memory is correct this tournament meets the minimum criteria for WRP to be available...18 players that are all ranked in the top 50.

$3.5 million purse with $1 million to the winner.  Only 18 guys and no cut.  I'm thinking that most of them would still be playing, pts or not.......

Does anybody have a link to a quality live stream?

I imagine you can find a legal stream on Golf Channel if they offer it. You won't get any help her for illegal ones.

    • Day 56 - 2024-11-25 Did the BAD Challenge and hit a bunch more other little shots. This was one of the closer shots.
    • 70 today. The number looks good but, the course is a par 67 (5,110 yards, 64.3/115.). While the 70 took quite a few good shots to achieve, I am not counting that as shooting my age.
    • Played our town’s executive course this morning. Everything is closing but for now Huron Hills remains open. #13 is shaped like an upside down backwards L (dogleg left). Only 231 yard par 4. Dogleg has a tree guarding the corner and a sand bunker guards the green for those cutting the dogleg. Tiny green. About 10 years ago or more I would try to cut the dogleg. The hole is so short that even if one tangled with the tree or was bunkered, par was likely and birdie was still on the table. Now in my 70’s, I just hit it straight and try to wedge it close for birdie. Today I screwed up and pulled my drive. I wandered around a bit when my ball was not in the bunker. Finally located it on the approach to the green. Almost chipped in and tapped in the 2 inches for birdie. Best unintentional shot of the week. 😲
