Well that was fun to watch! Good job by DJ, he's not my favorite golfer but damn did he EVER deserve to win today! I think he was the only player in the top 10 to shoot in the 60's today? He's had some tough pressure situations in the past and I honestly thought he was going to rinse his tee shot on 18. Instead maybe the drive of the week! Great stuff today

I predict JB shoots 75 today.

Great win for DJ. I'm thinking he'll be adding a major to his resume this year.

Good win for DJ.  I'm happy for him and his son that he got his life sorted out and is playing to the level he should be.  JB and Ryan Moore are painfully slow players, I hope the PGA Tour sends them a letter to speed things up.

The PGA should send a letter to themselves. They allowed this to get out of hand. They should've been on these guys from the first hole.

I didn't hear once that Holmes had brain surgery. I probably missed it.

With the way he struck the ball this tourney, he has to be on the short list to win it. He's already got a win and could've easily had another.

In his five tournaments, he's got two missed cuts, a fourth, a second, and a first. His game, when on, is potent.

It's possible. If his driving and iron play are on..of course along with the short game, I would expect DJ to be a favorite to get a top 5, if not win it outright.

I continue to think DJ is the most likely American that can step up and be a true rival to Rory over the next 5-10 years. His mental game appears to be finally catching up to his athleticism and physicality which is untouched by anyone else on tour. He has the distance and natural swagger that I think can hang with Rory on a Sunday. Could be fun to watch.

He's had close calls at the other majors, but his best finish at Augusta is only T-13th. Maybe the Masters isn't his style of tournament, or maybe he's due for a high result.

    • Day 11: did mirror work for a while. Worked on the same stuff.
    • I'm not sure you're calculating the number of strokes you would need to give correctly. The way I figure it, a 6.9 index golfer playing from tees that are rated 70.8/126 would have a course handicap of 6. A 20-index golfer playing from tees that are rated 64/106 would have a course handicap of 11. Therefore, based on the example above, assuming this is the same golf course and these index & slope numbers are based on the different tees, you should only have to give 5 strokes (or one stroke on the five most difficult holes if match play) not 6. Regardless, I get your point...the average golfer has no understanding of how the system works and trying to explain it to people, who haven't bothered to read the documentation provided by either the USGA or the R&A, is hopeless. In any case, I think the WHS as it currently is, does the best job possible of leveling the playing field and I think most golfers (obviously, based on the back & forth on this thread, not all golfers) at least comprehend that.
    • Day 115 12-5 Skills work tonight. Mostly just trying to be more aware of the shaft and where it's at. Hit foam golf balls.
    • Day 25 (5 Dec 25) - total rain day, worked on tempo and distance control.
    • Yes it's true in a large sample like a tournament a bunch of 20 handicaps shouldn't get 13 strokes more than you. One of them will have a day and win. But two on one, the 7 handicap is going to cover those 13 strokes the vast majority of the time. 20 handicaps are shit players. With super high variance and a very asymmetrical distribution of scores. Yes they shoot 85 every once in a while. But they shoot 110 way more often. A 7 handicap's equivalent is shooting 74 every once in a while but... 86 way more often?
