Drive was beautiful.

The Arizona sky, the sky is bigger there. It took my breath away. That doesn't happen everyday.

Your avatars are defeating the purpose of an "Avatar."

Maybe make them unique so they actually serve the purpose of what an avatar is meant to do?  Right now the site is very awkward.

The Newport Cup ends at the end of the week. Regular avatars will be back before you know it.

Yeah, it's just like wearing your team color shirts when you go to see the 'game'...

The Newport Cup ends at the end of the week.

To be precise, the Newport Cup ends at 6pm Pacific Time this Friday. By that point, the West Coast lead will be so commanding that the Saturday singles will merely be a formality.

No its not...  Read what an avatar is meant to be.

You are not identifying individuals at "the game."

I get that you are supporting a side, but think it could have been done in a way that keep the site users unique.

Everyone's name is still there.

Ok, not arguing about this.  Just something to consider next time.

And yet they keep users unique

Names are not visual representations of a users unique identity...

The point behind an avatar is to recognize that person easily because of their graphic ID.   When everybody has the same image the entire point of an avatar is ruined.

The support of the Newport cup team would be more appropriate in the Signature line for the user.

This might be a foolish question but is there a post that shows who is on what team?

There are but they're lost back there a few pages somewhere.  Here's the easy route: http://thesandtrap.com/t/83905/ping-2015-newport-cup-prediction-contest-win-a-g30-driver/0_30

    • I’d go with the Titleist if you liked the look of the blades but were suffering with distance. They should be a little more forgiving than a full blade and still retain some workability. Also remember to consider the shafts each have as this will be a big contributor to how they feel. Clemsonfan is right though… get fit or spend a bit of time on a launch monitor 🤙
    • Day 28: 2026.01.30 Managed to make time for a few swings out back today. Need a proper bit of range time this weekend.
    • Day 30, 1/30.  Six minutes this morning hitting a few more range balls, indoors, off a mat, into the net.  Did this before leaving the house.

    • Hi All my New Year’s resolution was to start playing golf again. I’ve caught the bug and am really enjoying hitting balls at a couple of my local ranges.looking forward to getting back out on courses in the spring. Based in the UK and 38 years old, I’ve been playing since I was a kid. Best handicap I’ve held is 2 in my mid 20s. Over the past 10 years I’ve played once or twice a year, sometimes with friends or for work. Could shoot 4-5 over, but just as easily shoot 15-20 over. I’ve moved to South Wales and am very lucky to be near some world class links courses, which gives me even more motivation to get playing again! I will start looking for a local coach in my area when I have more time to invest, but I recalled scouring this forum a few years ago and finding some good tips and advice so wanted to give it a try to see if there were any glaring issues I could fix in the meantime!  A few swings below… one from 1st week Jan and one from today. I have fixed my P1 takeaway to my liking and am now working on what I see as pretty severe early extension & hip thrust. Also terrible hip rotation. I’d like confirmation that this is indeed a problem and and suggestions on a few good drills. Thanks for reading 🙂 I've been Playing Golf for: 30+ years My current handicap index or average score is: 10ish over My typical ball flight is: mid The shot I hate or the "miss" I'm trying to reduce/eliminate is: push right with irons, hooks and push with driver!  Videos:
