I like the matchplay format for a change, but at the same time, maybe its not worth it. You have too many snoozers too deep into the tournament. This course also is kinda mehhhh.

I'm sorry, but this tournament is Dudsville. Seriously, either John Senden, Danny Willett, Timmy Fleetwood or Gary Woodland is going to be in the final? Going to be some thrilling golf tonight. I can't wait (sarcasm off). Maybe we'll get lucky and we'll at least get a Rory-Rickie semifinal tomorrow morning. If Rory weren't still alive, their ratings would be worse than the I Love Lucy re-runs on TV Land.

Yeah but they've played well and deserve it.

I think MAJ did the right thing in questioning the drop.  He was well within his rights.  What these guys were playing for is World Ranking Points and FedEx Cup points.  This could be important as I think bradley missed the four tournament playoffs last year by just a few points, but I didn't look it up and I don't have total recall.  Bradley and his caddie were the ones who started the melee.

Well I was wrong as usual.  Keegan easily made the tournament.  Something happened last year when he called a penalty on himself and he didn't move on as a result.  For some reason I am just not a Keegan fan.

We're watching the top 64 players in the world.

Some disrespect being shown to the lesser known players...and it's Tommy Fleetwood not "Timmy".

Someone should tell Keegen Bradley to stop having a game of tiddlywinks before every shot he plays.

They had a chance to square it away on 18 but it didn't happen. Never happen now.

Rory and Casey just teed off.

So assuming Rory wins today...he will have played close to 36 holes...hop on a jet immediately after his round and watch the Mayweather-Pacquiao fight ringside in Vegas.....take a jet immediately back to San Fran around 1 or 2 in the morning.....then tee off around 7 am tomorrow morning for another 36 holes of golf. Then of course he has to fly cross country tomorrow night to prepare for the Players. Good luck with that.

So what happens if he has to go extra holes tonight? Do they delay the Mayweather fight just for Rory?

From the PGA website regarding the Cadillac purse:

"The purse distribution for the event will be similar to past years, but payments for the players who do not advance beyond pool play will be based on the player’s record within the pool play round."

So there may some money involved in even the dullest of matches.  I have no idea of past years payout.

It worked the same way a stroke play purse would work if 64 players made the cut, and 32 finished T33, and another 16 finished T17, etc.

NBC dropped the coverage at 11 and I don't have cable! Two putts to finish out the hole, they can't hold the coverage for two putts!? Maybe I was the only one watching as I'm clearly too cheap to order the fight.

No, they finished the hole. McIlroy lipped out and Casey lipped in. All square, play suspended till tomorrow.
