Is there anyone but me who sees or hears certain commercials and turns the channel or station?

I have two cringe-worthy ones,

One is the Sabra Humus one where they have awful people singing the REO Speedwagon Keep on loving You song.

And the other is the GEICO commercial where flow is singing about an invisible friend names Mary Joe.

There are definitely others, but these ones are on the radio constantly and are annoying.

Commercials? I don't watch TV anymore, I watch shows online so I get 0 commercials. I rarely listen to the radio either, I tend to stream music from my phone in the car. Adblock when on youtube and twitch.tv.... I've come about as close as I can possibly get to removing all advertising from interrupting my entertainment options.

The one that currently bugs me is the "Hughes Marino" commercial that's airing on TGC every 5 seconds for the last several months.

Just looked them up and they are somewhat local ... so I imagine that most of you have no idea what I'm talking about. :)

We can agree on this thread!  This is exactly what I do.  I'd rather pay upfront, whether Netflix, Rdio, or buying/renting outright like you can with shows/movies on Amazon.  Nobody needs constant chatter trying to manipulate them subconsciously into being even more materialistic than we already are...

I guess that GEICO commercial wasn't very effective, since Flo is Progressive, not GEICO. ;-)

But then again, what the hell do I know?

      Would You Rather #69 For this question let's assume you are playing whatever tournament is important to you.  Would you rather finish second in your tournament but be remembered for a huge mistake you make right at the end.  or  Would you rather play solidly in your tournament, but you still finish outside the top 25, and are never really in contention.  Incidentally, this happed to a friend of mine many years ago at the tournament I play every year. He was leading the tournament coming into the last hole, where he took two to get out of a greenside bunker and then three-putted his way to second place. He hasn't really been in contention again since.

      I hate that I agree with this. But the guy is like a Ferrari with four flat tires trying to go 200 mph. Bad things can only come from that. He turns 50 on December 30th. I wonder how long Golf Cart Tiger lasts out there.

      Ex Cigarette smoker here. Quit 20 years ago and don't miss it. However I was looking at this from a Cigar perspective. Doesn't golf and cigars go together? I play with a lot of golfers who only smoke cigars on the course, and maybe one on the patio of the 19th hole. I mean after a rough day of golf what is better than a bourbon and a cigar?   I should also add the the second most smoking on NY courses is pot, but it is legal her. probably not during competition!
