Face On View

Set up actually looks good from this position. I would have her flare her feet for some freebie stuff, center pivot and weight forward.

Her issue right now would be keys number 1 and 2, which makes her struggle to get key 4. Her head shifts back a good 6-8 inches. The she basically keeps it there and gets stuck on her back leg. She tries to save the sht by releasing early.

Down the Line View

Her set up is actually pretty ideal. Unlike Kostis, I think she maintains that knee flex in the back knee to much. Kostis drew us a nice line there. It looks like she just rotated her knee outward to allow that hip to turn a bit, but she mostly shifts laterally over to that back leg.

That was horrible. The kid doesn't keep the right knee flexed the same, either…

I am confused about his advice here. She does not regain flexion which is a big issue, but it is not because she lets her right leg straighten. His advice should have been helping to regain flexion and then moving to extension. Anyways.

P.S. The kid shanked it.

Anyone catch this weeks with Clark Kellogg's swing? I actually agree with some of it, his wrist hinge was horrendous!

I saw it. That swing was so bad you could give any generic advice and not be wrong.

I agree, the swing was horrible and Kostis tried hard not to dis him too badly.  Who's next Charles Barkley?

Kostis showed his own swing during the tournament this last weekend.  Whose right knee is straighter at A4?

(He was demonstrating a drill keeping a glove between his right arm and chest.  But that's the point--he wasn't thinking about the right knee and showed us what it really does in his own swing.  I.e., it straightens.)

Hope you're not going by the back of his pant leg. Looks to me like both have similar R knee flex in pics and would look so if he were wearing shorts too.

Sorry. Thought you were saying it straightens a whole lot more than his wife's about the same seems right (I haven't seen his address position).

Ha! That's Candace Romo, Kostis can only dream about her being his wife.

    • I think you're saying it's preposterous to think that the areas on this club are anything like what's shown here: 30mm toward the toe or heel loses only 5% distance? Highly, highly doubtful. So a guy who hits the ball there and normally hits the ball about 250… will hit it instead about 238. By missing the sweet spot by about 1.2 inches? Highly, highly doubtful. Heck, the high heel barely gets into the red, and orange is only "up to" 10%! @M2R, I've never heard of "Ask Golf Nut" but I'm dubious of his claims in the video and really, really dubious of what's on his site: "Why AskGolfNut Is the Most Trusted Data-Driven Golf Resource". Hmmmmmm.

    • a) No b) This MLR says: I doubt the MLR is going to affect their weekly league games, in other words.
    • So the question was posed today by some of my friends.  Is a pitch mark the same as a divot?  I thought NO, but they argued if your ball lands in another player's divot (made by club during a swing) this was the same as a pitch mark, i.e. the ball mark made when the ball lands
    • Original definition use to or still is how far offline you hit it. It might be better to think of it as consistency in retaining favorable launch conditions to optimize distance.   That heat map showed a gigantic 0-3% loss in ball speed. That is absurd. The true 100% sweet spot is tiny for all clubs. Good luck telling the difference if the sweet spot is under 3% in a sizable area. Especially considering variation in launch angle, spin, and outdoor weather.
