Do you deny that there is an ongoing elitist trend towards Fabian socialism? Or that the ultimate goal of such is the anathema of individual liberty?

Hard for me to see any evidence for either. Fabian Socialism is just Democratic Socialism. There's less emphasis on individual liberty than in Gladstonian liberalism, but there's not any real opposition to it. Many social liberals in fact have long argued that things like a minimum wage, universal healthcare, and free education could be said to actually increase individual liberty.

And where is this elitist trend? Bernie Sanders is probably the first self-identified socialist to have meaningful influence in a U.S. presidential election since Eugene Debs. But his movement is decidedly grassroots, and anti-elitist. The elites always seem to be the greatest opponents of any such thing.

And no ongoing policy trend either. Maybe there was one earlier in the 20th century, but today Federal Government outlays as a percentage of potential GDP are exactly what they were 35 years ago, in 1980, about 20%. And I still see more elites arguing for cuts than increases.

No coup de grace from Trump, but a very good showing. Projections look very good for him, but still, anything can happen.

Walking up looks like Trump underperformed and Cruz was a surprise winner of three states. Which certainly will increase the chatter about Carson, Kasich and Little Marco mucking up the voter pool.

I fell asleep listening to Trump's meaningless speech after watching Clinton's excellent speech. People will scoff but she is looking more presidential every day.

I'm just going to make a single post as I don't want to get into a lengthy argument ATM. Feel free to post your opinions as I love to hear others opinions.

I won't be voting for trump. I'd have liked to vote for Rand Paul but it's too late for that :P

However, if it's between Donald Trump, and Bernie Sanders, trump can have my vote. Here's why:

While he may be a genius economically, I don't think that would help get our country out of the piles of debt were in. But it's definitely a lot better than this "Blame the rich; the rich are just getting richer tax them 90%(or some other crazy number)" bs I hear all the time.

The media is running out of things to attack trump about: First he was racist because he wanted to bar Muslims from entering after what happened in Paris(Can you blame him, have you seen how many terrorists disguised themselves as refugees?); then he was racist because he said(truthfully) that a large number of illegals bring drugs and crime to the United States, which again, is the truth. And now they're up in arms that the Ex-Leader of the KKK is a supporter of trump, and donates quite a bit of money. Trump has disavowed his support 3 times now if I'm correct, and the media still attacks him for it.

The media doesn't spend time talking about his policies because they can't, they want to bait the younger generation, and the minorities into thinking "Oh, Trump? Racist, Bad, Never". Not saying all his policies are good, but not saying they're not.

Bernie Sanders is someone that should definitely take an economics class over again because what he wants to do won't work.

Lets start with $15 minimum wage, how is it going to work? You can raise the minimum wage but either the prices of goods are going to rise, or people are going to get fired, or both. And how can we ignore the whole "socialism is good" theory that Bernie is preaching? Socialism is not good. Name to me a country that has worked for over 200 years on Socialism? You can't. Sure capitalism has put us into recessions, but it's not because of "Corporate Greed" or anything silly that people promote to you. An economics class can show you that there are infinitely many Cycles of Peaks, Recessions, and then recovery, regardless of the governing form you have. Also, why is it okay for 1% of taxpayers to pay almost half of the taxes, but get yelled at for not paying enough by people who pay none? What sense does that make. All this $15 an hour crap is going to wash away when the taxes are 45% or higher(Like Denmark; Bernie likes Denmark), and people are left making less than they do now.

That's how the media works today, they attack Trump for David Duke but never said a word when Farrakhan, who is at least as racist as Duke if not more, endorsed Obama.

They not only try to influence the country by hammering those they dislike but they also refuse to run stories that would reflect negatively on those they support.

I'm enjoying it because it's killing the media that Trump is continuing to dominate along with Cruz because those are the two people they fear the most.

Also, not a word when Marco Rubio, in the middle of the last debate in front of everyone, said "Palestinians teach their four-year old children that killing Jews is a glorious thing", which is worse than anything Donald Trump has ever said about Mexicans or Muslims. But Rubio is the last hope of the establishment.

Fox was all over the Farrakhan thing. O'Reilly in particular very nasty.

The media doesn't have to worry about running out of things with Trump his mouth will give them more. Nobody cares about David Duke what made headlines was Trump's rediculous answer continuing with the faulty earpiece defense. He will do things like that over and over. Always been that way running for president doesn't change it.

Honestly I don't see anything but a Trump love fest with the media. He is grateful to be a 24/7 story. He's not getting attacked as much as making an interesting headline for being the reality TV guy beating on the pathetic establishment candidates. He gets a lot of air time on MSNBC and it isn't always negative. Fox is frying him more than anyone as they quote stiffs like Romney in an attempt to convince the base they are wrong about Trump.

Um, revisionist history anyone???

They aren't criticizing Trump for Dukes endorsement, but rather for his non committal response (not to mention his flat out lie about not knowing who he was).

Do you already not remember the whole Jeremiah Wright nonsense?  Obama denounced his crap many times and still got grilled for it.

Whine about the "liberal media" all you want but they're a lot more fair than you seem to think - they want to embarrass everybody.

Did you not hear Trump say he wanted to not only kill IS, but kill all their families?!  But, let's not brag about who is worse, the fact that all these things are being said makes us all look foolish.

That's one big thing with me and the candidates.  They, especially Trump, feel such a need to know the answer to every question and be right, that they will always lie their way through it when they don't know/have an answer.  Yes, Trump eventually disavowed the support from Duke, but the fact that he tried to lie and say he doesn't know who he is or what white supremacy is, is ridiculous.  Seriously, come up with something better.  At least be honest and ask the reporter who he his again to remind yourself, if you forgot.  Then say, ok, yeah F*** that guy.

I don't think Duke actually endorsed him. Just said Trump needs to do whatever it takes to win because America needs change.

Ummm... look around the world.  From France to Turkey to the Philippines, there were dozens of politically motivated terror attacks across the globe, both internal and external, just in 2015.  And that doesn't count the ones that were sniffed out and stopped before they could act.

All of those mass shootings you dismiss were also acts of terror, regardless of who perpetrated them.  Nobody is ignoring them, but the post you quoted was more concerned with the political aspects of foreign terror, as per the general topic in this thread.

I promised myself I wouldn't respond but I had to.

First, stop with this white people bullshit. Especially the white people and shootings. Please read and watch this:

Then tell me if you still think it's okay to discriminate white people.

Second, there hasn't been a country that's tried Capitalism. In fact, we broke away from Great Britain that was a Socialist government controlled by the Church, why are we running back to what we fled from? But don't forget that the world progressed faster when free trade was introduced(Which is a capitalistic idea).

Third, the program's we have aren't the roots of Socialism. We don't wait in bread lines for food, the government doesn't, and shouldn't, run our economy, and most importantly, the money you own is yours, for the most part at least.

Sure the US uses social programs and ones Such as the SSA, are okay because they provide plans for retirement for a tax, but are they necessary? No.

Take for example the "Affordable CaRe Act" how affordable is it really, the average person is paying WAY more than they were before, for worse coverage.

Social Programs are often far worse than their independent counterparts.

And why the hell are people that work 40 hours a week paying for people to not have jobs? I agree there should be some sort of benefits to unemployed people, as long as they're actively searching for a job. I'm tired of people working 40 hours a week to support their own families just to have their money taken away to pay for someone who doesn't work and blows their money on shit they don't need.

Im all for banning certain items from being able to be purchased with welfare. I'm tired of seeing people on welfare complaining they don't have enough and walking around in a pair of Yeezys.

This country has a sever laziness issue. Stop relying on people who make more than you to pay your shit for you, if you don't like how much you make get off your ass and do something. My family didn't move to the United States to mope around collecting payments from the rich and not having to work, we moved here because this is where you truly have the most economic freedoms.

Let the rich get richer, they're working hard for what they get. People like Kanye, Kim K, and other celebrities are glorifying what it's like to have a lot of money. It's not easy to be, or stay rich.

First, Who discriminated against "white people"?
Simply put, our security forces are doing a great job defusing any potential terrorist attacks. However for all the talk of "Muslims" you would think they are shooting up the place? When in fact they are not. Statistacly, more white males have conducted mass shootings.

Secondly I watched the video "anti-White Racism"
"Anti-racist is a code word for anti-white" is a straw manphrase used by white nationalists, white separatists, white supremacists and their ilk. Individuals who make this claim allege that the real bigots are actually the people who claim to be anti-racists, as they have a secret anti-white agenda. This phrase can be found copied and pasted in any comments section of a YouTube video or other web page discussing racial matters.
The next video after "anti-White Racism" on youtube is "Jews admit organizing White Genocide".
Way to use questionable content to make your point that you are a minority and being discriminated against!

"And why the hell are people that work 40 hours a week paying for people to not have jobs?"

Anyone who pays taxes is adding to the pot that in which provides "social services" to those in need. It is not just "rich people", but also us middle class and working class stiffs as well. and while you object to providing welfare to those who do not have jobs, do you also object to provide to those whose jobs do not provide enough?
Do you complain when military family's or working poor utilize and collect welfare, snap or any form of public assistance?
Or is it just the non working in the "inner city"?

"Im all for banning certain items from being able to be purchased with welfare. I'm tired of seeing people on welfare complaining they don't have enough and walking around in a pair of Yeezys"

Who are you to define the liberty of others?
And how many welfare recipients do you know who are complaining?
or are you just regurgitating that people on welfare buy nothing but expensive sneakers?

But in most cases the sneakers are bought with money earned "under the table" through means you would not approve of. but they are working for it!

The topic remains and is limited to Donald Trump with very little latitude.

I haven't read enough to know whether this is veering off topic or not, but it seems like it might be, so reign it in if so.
