Kill slow play. Allow walking. Reduce ineffective golf instruction. Use environmentally friendly course maintenance.

Calves are such a genetic thing.  If you don't have big calves, all the weight lifting in the world isn't going to give you big calves.  You can make them strong as hell, but you're not going to change spider legs into huge pillars of muscle.  Nonetheless, it seems like Rory has done just fine for himself with the calves he has.  I'd gladly trade my (much larger) calves for his golf game any day! :-$

Yup.

Even TW is jealous of mine. And Shania Twain doesn't like hers, either.

No matter how hard he tries to tamp it down, it's still a frizzy fro.

If you view it in an app, it's the Portugese flag. It's also mentioned in the replies it's Portugal.

If McIlroy doesn't play the PGA, it would be a major letdown after all these tweets he's sending out about his improving ankle. My guess is if his was any other major, he'd sit it out, but since this is the last one and really can risk not playing again for 4-5 more months, he'll give it a go. I expect him to play, and if there's no damage from it, his next tourney will be the week before the TOUR. If there is damage, you won't see him again til probably Abu Dhabi.

I'm finding these crytic tweets and pics of Rory fairly annoying. If you're playing, say so. If you don't know, don't tease. C'mon. You're 25 years old, not 12.

I would bet he is really wanting to play but can't yes for sure yet.  He wants to throw it out there that there is a chance but if he as to backdown, he won't be going against his word.

And he may be going a little stir crazy being trapped indoors for weeks. :-P

[QUOTE name="Spiethismyhero" url="/t/83044/rory-mcilroy-ruptures-tendon-out-of-british-open-longer/126#post_1181174"]   I'm finding these crytic tweets and pics of Rory fairly annoying. i'm SURE he wants to play... and i know i want to see him play... and i'm POSITIVE he's going stir crazy being trapped indoors for weeks... :-D i'm the world's laziest person, and even i go crazy when laid up like that... i'm just not sure it is such a good idea... i won't pretend to know his body, but unless he is 100%, it's a risk (imo) he should not take... besides the (mentioned earlier) potential swing issues, it opens up the possibility of injuring something else if compensating for the ankle...

Haney said he's flying to Whistling Straits to get some practice rounds in.  Haney also said that the course is really tough to walk and wonders if Rory's ankle will hold up not to the golf but all the walking.

    • Day 22: Hit balls with 7-iron using mevo+ to track dispersion. Was out for a long time after work; 86 balls but the first 50+ were 50% swings focusing on top of backswing feel and then just hitting the ball as a psychic reward. Finished with 20 balls close to full speed. Pretty happy with dispersion and also no horrendous misses. I’m chunking my priority piece out into two separate feels, first and more important is the position/balance at top of backswing which is what I was working on. Once I have that engrained I’ll move to transition part.
    • FWIW I never really had issues with the previous generation of Snells. But… I'm not sure I played them a ton, either.
    • I know Dean Snell designed the original Pro V along with a couple of other brands tour balls.  How exactly does the Snell ball have problems.  Did he change something in the design or is a manufacturing error since he cannot afford the unlimited R&D budgets of the big manufacturers to iron out flaws
    • I've played the Tour in both white and yellow.  They play well and seem to hold up pretty good even when running into trees or cart paths.  Right now, I've been trying them against the Bridgestone Tour B RX ball and I really like both.  The Snell 3.0 looks to be a great update to the issues Snell was running into with the previous generation.
