Not sure if this may have contributed to "slow" play. Sorry, no pics.

A Chicago public golf course allowed a local strip club to host an outing there last month and local residents are NOT happy about it, according to CBS News .

Why such a fuss? Because strippers were, well, doing what they do on the course. And the course, White Pines Golf Club, just happens to be located in the middle of a bunch of houses. Oh, and a children's playground.

"I take my four-year-old grandson to that park," resident Paul DiMichele said. "I would not want to have to explain to him what those people are doing. It was just the wrong place for it."

"There was one grandmother there who was mortified," says another resident, Christine Balog, who took photos of the outing on her cell phone. "There was a lot of nudity and things that don't belong on a public golf course."

Park commissioners are looking into the matter, but CBS reports the Pink Monkey (aren't strip club names great?) has already been banned from holding future events at the course. Apparently, this was the Fourth Annual Pink Monkey Golf Outing.

Watch the full video report from CBS. And try not to laugh when the reporter intently scrolls through -- and zooms in on -- Balog's cell phone photos.

I'm a bit confused. This has been going on for 4 years and this year it's suddenly a big deal? Or did people put up a fuss about it previously also? In general I don't think the outing is a big deal, however, it probably would be best to have these types of things in areas where it's not likely to be seen by people not attending.

I really don't think a golf course is the right place to bring a strip club unless the course explains there's no nudity allowed.

The place for strip clubs is where they are in private clubs.

I don't think people need to go out of their way to exacerbate the problem but

the golf course didn't show good sense by booking this outing with no rules.

Not as bad as having unattended beer a few feet from a public walkway. . .even from my limited experience, people in the mid west do all kinds of things to prove a point. . .

Yeah.  Nobody ever said that anyone had done so, but she had to get her daughter (who was showing about as much skin as any of the women on the course) to do an illegal act just to help to sensationalize her claim.  I didn't see any actual nudity in any of the still shots, so if it was there it was pretty discreet.  I swear that some people go out of their way to find things to get upset about so they can try to force their own puritanical ideals on everyone.

If there truly was public nudity within view of a children's playground, then they have a case, but I didn't see anything in the report to support that claim.

Mortified? nope. Outraged? of course not.

But just go to the club for that, it's silly and kind of stupid to do that on a golf course, so I agree with the ruling.

The only thing I saw that was illegal was leaving beer unattended, but IDK if it is problem in the mid-west? Seems like beer is considered as another form of water there?

Nudity in front of children is not something that should be going on, if in fact it was. Bad Boogie there.

Near  where I live, topless, nude clubs are the norm. Since we also have so many golf courses around here, these two forms of entertainment get together quite often. That said, not usually at a course that is inside a housing development. How do I know this? Because I have been to few of those outings where a charity was involved. When you hand over a check for a few thousand dollars to a charity, they don't mind where the money comes from. The golf course management does not mind the extra revenue either.

I suspect the 5th Annual Pink Monkey Golf Outing will still take place at another course, with less exposure next time..

I hope this is the worse issue most of the folks have to deal with today ... So beer and liquor at mom and dad's house is unattended as well ... back in mid-school that was our main source of liquor ...

It's worth noting that the beer was on property, surrounded by a fence, that only those who had paid for admission had the right to access. I've also never heard of a statute requiring that beer be "attended", whether in the Midwest, or elsewhere. Heck, I've seen the exact same set up at golf events dozens of times in So Cal....

It has been at least 10 yrs but I have been at "strip club" outings in the past. They have little do with golf and lots do with...well other things. From memory was played about 12 holes in about 6 hours if I recall properly. Anywhere the course could be seen from the road on public things looked just like a normal golf course. Everywhere that was tucked into the back of the property, was down in a hollow etc was a free for all. 10.00 cart dances that were really just a front for more negotiations, there was no shortage of guys there to make sure the ladies had plenty of lotion on areas not used to seeing the sun for extended periods of time...I believe we got kicked out at just before 3pm due to some leagues that were going to be starting! I recall one par 3 T box with 5 or 6 girls and at least as many foursomes "waiting" for the course to clear!

LOL funny stuff it was much more common back in the 90's when business was booming and corporate rules were much easier to say thank-you!!

Meh - childs play.

You want some real controversy?  Check out what happened at a course near me about 10 or so years ago:  http://articles.latimes.com/2004/nov/05/local/me-golfsex5

Quote:

Riverside County sheriff's investigators knew something was fishy when some golfers showed up for a golf tournament in Norco without their clubs.

When deputies raided the Hidden Valley Golf Club during the June 14, 2002, tournament, they found more than a dozen prostitutes and strippers providing sex and entertainment to golfers in tents set up near several tees.

On Thursday, a woman and two golf course managers who organized the tournament were sentenced to 125 days of house arrest and three years' probation for felony conspiracy to corrupt public morals.
