82 front 40 back 42 rate 72.6 slope 135 indexed 7.9

Played 4 ball match play, I was lowest index so I had to give 6 strokes to one player and 8 to another, I was okay with the 8 but the guy who got 6 was way better than a guy needing 6 strokes from me to compete in a match play event and someone confirmed this later to me. Anyways me and my partner halved the match with me making a final 6 foot putt on the last hole pheeew.

80. And just about a perfect day.

Almost no wind.

39F to start 55F by the finish.

Only one guy out in front of me (and he let me by as soon as I caught up with him.)

I played for the first time today since October 27th!!   Sunny/55degrees........ I teed off at 1pm and the course was absolutely jam packed.

Drumm Farm Golf Club:  72.5CR 137slope

Front 9: par36..............score 43

Fairways: 3/7

Greens: 4/9

Putts: 17

Birdies: 2

S/Saves: 1/1

Penalties: 2

I hit 3 fairways from the tee and made 2 birdies and a par on these 3 holes.........................the rest of the holes were a disaster!!    1 bogey +4 doubles because these drives went to Never-Never-Land!!   In spite of the disaster holes, I saw enough good play to feel good knowing my game is still there......albeit buried under several layers of rust.

The course was so full and backed up that we finished the 9th hole in 2.5hrs.   The play was slow, so I decided 9 holes was enough for today.   I plan to play earlier in the morning tomorrow for a proper 18.    It felt great to get out!!!

Played yesterday, walked 18. 46 on the front with two tee shots OB. Very happy at the turn. But completely fell apart and shot 59 on the back. Got some work to do!

84 today which is one under handicap. And in some crazy conditions. 50-58 degrees but wind 19-20 gusting to over 30 mph. 1st hole directly down the fairway and was a 3 club wind. Chipped to about 6 inches and the wind turned it right back at me and rolled it off the green. Then on 3 it blew the ball off the tee twice. I was able to do some great low shots though and so feel this was one of my better rounds.  But, most importantly it was just a great day because I could get on the course.

Walked 18 holes for 95 on Saturday, in 38 degree Celcius weather (100.4 F) in Australian summer. Course is par 70 went out in 51 and in in 44 (2 birdies, 4 pars, 4 bogeys, 3 doubles and 5 2+).  Tight course with a lot of water around and undulating fairways meaning few flat lies. 3 GIR, 6 near GIR which explains the score. 32 putts, 2 penalties, 3 two putts. Was loose off the tee, losing a few strokes with mishits. The penalties were trying to lay up before water hazards and struck both shots too well (and poor course management led to me choosing a club too many in the first place).

81 and felt a little rusty. Two 3 putt bogeys and two doubles on par 3's. Really didn't have to get up and down much. Either was putting for par or not close to green, on in three and two putt bogey.

Saturday,

Avon Fields Golf Course, Cincinnati, OH

45-54-99

With snow still on the floor in Dayton, I headed an hour south and found Avon Fields in a gritty-looking part of Cincinnati. Obviously, everything fell apart on the second nine (the front since they started me off the back). Really, it was so good to be out that I didn't care. After getting back to the car, it dawned on me that I hadn't bothered to eat a thing all day. That might not have helped.

Wasn't out today, last round was yesterday at Al Ain Equestrian, Shooting & Golf Club.

Front 9 was a playing lesson with no scores kep, played the back 9 (first time ever on the back 9 on this course) in 56 (+21)

Last week went round the front nine at same course in 50 (+14)

Guess not too bad for a beginner

Shot 85 (42/43), slope 137, ~6700 yds., chilly weather around 6 deg. C, light winds, soggy To quote dan: "random stat": had 4 three puts on miserable greens (full of mushrooms:-O)

81 (39-42)

Parred the first par-5, then took a 7 on each of the other three. Real bent about that because it could've been an excellent round.

Shot 74 and kind of bummed about it even though that is a solid round only because...

I had a 12 foot birdie putt on number 1 and i 3 putt for bogey

2 foot part putt on 2 and i missed it

3 putt on number 9 for bogey

first round since early November 2014 today.

started par, triple, par, double and cruised to a smooth 96 on my home course.

The Good: hit 5 fairways, made 5 pars on the front (including three in a row on #7,#8,#9)

The Meh: missed all birdie putts, only had 5 GIRs for the day

The Suck: shot 50 on the back, put 3 balls OB off the tee (all left) between #14 and #18, did not make a par on the back nine, topped two drives

The Conclusion: after a great opening hole, not touching a club for two months showed through the rest of the round. not making a par on the inward half is fairly disconcerting, as was all the tee balls going Big Left, but i think with some small adjustments and getting back some "feel" will eliminate that going forward. heading back out on Monday and expecting better results.

Played my first full 18 yesterday and got round in 86 on a 71 course.

As it was only my 2nd time on the back 9 I had some pretty bad issues and hit 3 double bogeys in a row.  However I did mange 5 pars and even 2 birdies, including a massively flukey birdie 4 that dropped in after an uphill chip onto the green.

88 at the home course this afternoon.

continued the theme of good start (par) and crap (triple, double) before finding some kind of rhythm.

The Good: hit 8 GIR, made 7 pars and a birdie

The Meh: four fairways hit, 11 misses to the RH (better than the pull/hook than a few days back), 35 putts

The Suck: 3 Three-putts, two balls OB (and awful OB, like toeing a hybrid dead right on a 75 degree angle...twice), bad course management on three holes....trying to get out of trouble in the trees by attempting a "miracle shot" instead of just punching into the fairway and taking medicine.

overall, a better day than Saturday last, with an eight shot improvement. the "miss" changed from pull to block, though only a few yards right as to opposed to the crushing pull/left/OB. by feel, it was more getting lazy with not releasing hands that lead to a number of balls going right. hopefully i can get out on Wednesday to put a complete round together.

    • Wow that was disingenuous. Like, let’s ignore that golfers actually rotate. It isn’t all side bend. Has incorrect or excessive side bend hurt golfers sure. In no way are golfers taught to just fling their hips towards the target. To basically claim it’s him versus this evil golf instruction industry is just disingenuous.

    • I'm starting to move with some speed and confidence. Carried the fairway bunker 225 yards out on the 17th yesterday fairly comfortably. I don't think it was a one off drive either. Pretty much back to game speed. On another note it doesn't seem like my pelvis is nearly as thrusty compared to a this time last year. I hope I'm judging that correctly. It's an ongoing battle.
