Broke par finally 🤣

I have won the net division of the 2024 William Anderson Match Play Championships at Neshanic Valley Golf Course.

Broke par (finally!) with 69 from the white tees at Wing Point Country Club on July 25. It's a par 71 course. One eagle, 4 birdies, 9 pars, and 4 bogeys. Finished birdie, birdie, par on #16-18.

Not sure if I want to say I broke 80.  I sort of did a couple time playing with my older parents from very forward tees with very low ratings.  I shot low 80s several times for much lower differentials so the former rounds certainly don't seem like more of an achievement than the latter.  Neither do I want "broke 90" because I almost always break 90 and don't really care.  So I'll post again when I feel I "really" broke 80.

I also eagled from those forward tees but that was, like, a 420 yard par 5 downwind so maybe that doesn't count.

I got the first several. I left the 80/90 and the eagle one off for now…

Made an albatross today on a par 5!

Thought the ball was lost and was about to take a penalty when my dad took a look in the hole. He dropped his clubs and stared at me, and I thought he was just messing around. There it was. Just a freak shot, but definitely boosted my back 9 score.

I achieved a Hole in One at Enger Park golf course in Duluth Minnesota on June 2, 2008.  I won the Men's Club Championship at Lester Park Golf Course for 2013 in Duluth.  I broke 80 in that Tournament (a 76).  I practice the 5 simple keys without getting off on tangents.

      Definitely not a favorite… For some reason my wife and I started watching Cobra Kai. I know the original was pretty cheesy, but the inability of these people to get over shit that happened like 30 years ago is astounding. And these kids would be arrested, but they don’t even seem to get suspended from school. Would Danny not notice that Johnny’s son looks like Johnny? Etc.? Why would a completely different dojo that has the same name be “banned”? Oy. Not sure we’ll make it to season 2.

      Day 139 - 2025-02-16 Weather led to a rescheduled GEARS lesson, so I used the time to work on my swing for 60 minutes or so. All downswing stuff. Some swings at 93 MPH. Most around 75-80.

      A question I have is…this swing (fade, pull cut) does not  feel as good and easily repeatable as the draw swing we were working on previously.  I’m kinda in a weird spot where I do not know which direction will be the best to pursue. I like seeing a penetrating 5 yard draw but also like the thought of the fade not getting away from me as much.    Any thoughts on that?
