Who are you taking?

  1. 1. Are you taking Jordan Spieth or the field given 2:1 odds (or 1:2 odds? Whichever pays double to take Jordan.)?

So according to CBS's Trackman, Watson just hit a driver with a 136ft apex, naturally, it was a fade, but not an extreme slice and it went over 300. That's 14 feet short of 50 yards. Is that as high as it gets?

It would be cool if CBS displayed face, path, aoa too, but probably too much info for the average spectator to handle. Overall, the three radar numbers it's showing is a big plus.

The highest apexes of last year. Somehow, Justin Thomas had a 300' apex last year?

Anyway, plenty of them were over 50 yards (150').

So,as Spieth is no longer a part of the "BIG THREE",who will replace him at the end of this tournament?

Love to see Rory and Scott battling it out down the final nine holes.

Money on Bubba though.

Thanks. The CBS announcer said 136ft was "as high as it gets, folks".  Whether he meant Watson or everyone, wrong on both counts. Watson's highest was 158 ft.

Hey CBS, ya'll need to recheck your stats. Like there's a Truth in Advertising, there should be a Truth in Announcing.

Don't they have an unpaid intern for that kind of stuff? :-P

Here's the video saying 136 is as high as it gets:

Riviera looks very appealing this time of year.  After not watching much golf until recently, the field seems to be much more competitive with plenty of people in contention.  I enjoy watching B Watson play. His style seems very intuitive. He has great feel and instinct but not classic style.

Jordan will be back. The guy has a ton of talent and he is really young.

Matsuyama is a phenom. Another great young talent.

I started golf with wooden shafts. For years I hit persimmon Walter Hagen woods. They were black and sinister looking with a red and white face.  I used to touch up the lacquer once in while to keep them looking new.  They could launch the ball, but we got penalized for miss hits more than with the new bigger clubs that are perimeter weighted.

Could someone tell me more about this apex thing.I'm really lost.

Do you think the winner of the LA Open will have the biggest APEX or the biggest COCK.

Try and stick to the thread.

I am on point, I'm calling out the announcer on getting his facts straight. I said nothing about whether it has anything to do with winning.

10 is a fantastic hole. I could probably watch just that hole all day long.

If Scott can putt like this, why did he cheat all those years with the anchoring?

He was not cheating.  He was well within the rules.

As for the tournament, what the heck happened to Rory?  He's going backwards!!!

This was the 1st Sunday Ive watched golf in a while and it didn't disappoint.  That was a great win for Bubba.  I like Ryan Moore's ace.   It was funny how you could hear him say go then he got a nice bounce right into the hole.  I was surprised Rory wasn't more of a factor on the weekend but we all have those days.

Nowhere near the much wanted McIlroy/Spieth showdown.

Weird not hearing Feherty. The new graphics look like current website design, Google's new font, designed to be viewable in small to large viewports.

Despite intent to broadcast fewer commercials, not sure if it was CBS who said it, but didn't sense much of any reduced commercial time.

Jason Kokruk deserves some mention for a great performance. He struggled a little, but held up well at the end. He was edged out by Watson with more experience in the spot light. JK can hit the ball a ton, with some great iron play and good putting. Some of the short finesse shots are not his strength.

Man, what is with D.J..? He just can't seem to keep a lead when he has it..:~(

Great article about CBS' awful coverage: http://nolayingup.com/2016/02/21/eye-on-cbs-an-intervention/

Watched about an hour, and it didn't seem as bad as it was at Pebble Beach. But it still could be a lot better. I think the author is right that CBS got complacent with Tiger, where they could only focus on him and people would be happy. Now that golf doesn't have that dominant player any more, they have to show more players. And they haven't adjusted to that yet. Or they don't care.

Hit all four par threes in one (a first) - parred each; still had a couple 3 putt bogies; and blew up on 3 of the par 5’s (go figure)). The blow ups were some serious tree rattlers - amplifying how I got stupid and greedy instead of smart and content to just get back in the short stuff.
