Mickelson going with a claw grip this week.  He seems to switch putting styles often.

Mickelson in with a 67,5 under, one behind Piercy who is leading in the clubhouse.

Mcilroy double bogeyed his last hole to go back to -1.

Spieth on -3.

Loads still out on the course.

Spieth in mid-season form with the putter; pretty good considering this is the official start of the '16 season.

But Dufner!  What?!  200' of putts made today??  That is simply nuts!  I'm happy if I get to 36' in a round.

Dufner putted really well today... Made a bunch... Mickelson played real well from the bit I saw. Rory hit some good shots, and he hit a few crap shots, 2nd on 18 for instance, safe but crap, 3rd shot, sucked... Spieth's putting does look in mid-season form... I quite honestly believe that there is way too much water there now. But even with 19 balls in the water on 18, there were only 5 doubles or worse. That being said, it was fun watching players trying to hit out of the water on 18, hell a partially submerged ball, I would try it, if I could potentially turn an almost certain double bogey into a bogey or a par if I hit a really good 3rd shot.... hell I'd do it in a minute... You'll definitely see more of that the remainder of the tournament.

Sergio threw quite a temper tantrum yesterday, throwing his club like a spear at his caddie and then grabbing his golf bag from him and throwing it down on the ground.  Not a good sign of where he's at mentally.

Bummed that Sneds WD this morning. Was hoping to see him resume the great play he had at the beginning of the year.

Couple things-

These new collars on Rory's shirts are FUGLY....

Why in the hell don't so many tour pros know how to correctly fix a pitch mark?? It seems like almost all of them pull up the crater from the bottom up. Maddening!! And then knuckleheads watching think that's the proper way to do it....ARGH.

Stevie Bowditch +17???? With a ten and a snowman on his round?? Hahahahahahahahaha!!!!!!!

That is when you say, "I can do that to!"

One reason I like watch #17 at Sawgrass. When I see someone bounce it off the side of the bunker and into the water I can say, "I've done that" ;)

Well Rory seems to have come back after a sluggish Thursday start. Only 2 back from Adam Scott now.

Exactly!! I think there hardly any excuse for a pro to ever make a ten, except for very very poor decision making.
