That just sucks for Willett on 18.

Poor Willett.  Why couldn't his first kid have been born this week instead of a month from now?

Also, Adam Scott is channeling some Freddie Couples.

Edit:  did Adam Scott just ground his club in that hazard?

Not a good weekend for the Irish.  Two "sure things" were beaten.

Fun tourney today, at the end was just hoping for a playoff.

I'm glad Rory Choked, although a playoff would have been fine with me. Adam Scott is so Humble in his interviews, makes it hard to not like the guy. I still wished an American born player had won. Adam Scott's swing is so Pure. A thing of beauty mate.

I didn't watch last week, but I did catch the last six holes of Doral.  Adam Scott won twice in a row, this week beating back Bubba, Rory, and Phil.  But it looked to be more luck than anything.  AS had a shank from the green side bunker on 16 and managed to get it up and down for par.  And on 18 he overcut his drive, then nearly rinsed his second.  He was incredibly lucky both that his ball stayed dry and he had as good of a lie/stance as he did to be able to get it up and down.

This finish should have been much more exciting given the players that had a shot to win entering the final nine.

Missed it all, as I was out of the country with spotty Internet. Pretty good start to the season for Adam Scott! Guess he'll do fine without the broomstick.

What happened to Rory in R4? Early Sunday morning I managed to get online for a few minutes and it looked like he had it locked up with a bogey-free Saturday and a 4 shot lead.

Yours in earnest, Jason.

Rory was wild off the tee and on approach shots. He seemed out of sync the whole round. Only hit short game and bunker play kept him in it.

Here's the shank. I'll have a shank, two doubles and a win, thank you. Peaking too early, Scott is?

Rory's Strokes Gained,

Rory.thumb.JPG.6e207533b42284e3acd0635a9

He went from averaging 3.56 in Tee to Green to loosing 6/10ths of a stroke than the field on Sunday. OUCH! That includes his short game as well since Tee to Green is just total strokes gained minus strokes gained putting. If he had a good strokes gained short game day then that just means his long game was even worse.

Here is Adam's Scott's strokes gained,

The winner of the tournament had only 15% of his strokes gained come from putting ;)

His strokes gained putting is pretty good in light of some of the announcers were down on his putting.

To me, the WGC final round was one of the most fun-to-watch rounds over the last few months. It had a star-packed leaderboard (don't wanna be rude towards the guys outside the Top20 or so, but I just enjoy it more if there is Phil, Bubba, Adam, Rory, Dustin etc. in the mix), there were a lot of guys capable of winning (I think at the turn there were like 6 guys or so within 2 shots), and it was exciting up until the last shot.

And I think its a bit unfair to say that Adam Scott won due to his luck. Yes, he did shank the bunker shot and almost hit the water on 18, but he also birdied pretty much everything else after his 2 doubles on the front nine ;)

In light of Scott's shank yesterday, I wonder if there's a way to measure long mistakes versus short game mistakes and which cause more damage?

Fun tournament yesterday. Is Adam Scott going to round out the big 5 now after winning back to back? Can you imagine the hype if Rickie won back to back like this?

I saw that watching live and laughed out loud.  I guess he thought it was the bags fault he hit lousy shots.

All this while his caddie is holding the bag. Victor is a class act, or maybe an ass hat.

I always blame my bag.

Is that not accurate?
