Missed that - fair play. I used to love him as a golfer and could happily watch some of those stinger shots on repeat for an hour or more. Would be great to see him get back to it.

Anyhow, we're getting a bit off-topic. Wonder if the dried out greens play into the hands of the bigger hitters. Taking a couple of lower clubs into those greens could really help. Then again, the wind being up throws all sorts of curveballs. I have to say, I'm enjoying this year's Masters way more than last year's - so much going on all over the place vs. the brilliance of one man

Higher traj, more wind factor. Lower traj, tougher to hold greens. Conundrum.

Tiger was pretty whiny on the course even into his 30s. That's why he turned a lot of people off. It wasn't just his off the course stuff, it was on the course behavior. Remember Turnberry 2009 when he took a lot of heat for the way he acted during the tournament. He was throwing clubs, complaining any little thing that didn't go his way and so forth. He lost a lot of fans because of that.

I agree.....but just had to point out a lot of people like Tiger for the same reasons they hate others. It doesn't make sense, but we move on. Third round ahead and I can't wait. Looks pretty damn cold out there today.

I'm assuming sarcasm, but I'll take the compliment . Not sure about the higher trajectories due to the windspeeds. If Rory can play this course like he'd play Royal County Down by knocking his ball down a bit, he's going to do well. So many interesting things going on out there in that final group.

Not sarcastic. Applauding a return to the topic at hand.

Yes, you and @colin007 both make that good point. But maybe there's a sweet spot just below the tree line for approaches? Or conditions may slightly favor some indirect approaches to really tough greens with layups short of green relying on a pitch or chip to get a safe par?

Whatever happens, it should be a lot of fun out there! I am like a little kid at Christmas this weekend; my wife hasn't really seen me between heading to the course and sitting in front of my laptop with the headphones in so she can have the TV. Shame we've only got two more days before the next 2 month wait till Oakmont.

He is just showing them the way to play the course, is not to bomb (he is the anti LSW longer is better guy . . . so far today)

Why did Larry then have to bogey his next four holes?

That wind is nasty, you can tell it's really playing with the golfers heads.  Some of the approach shots are almost impossible to land on the green given the wind gusts.  This wind definitely favors the non-USA players who are more accustomed to playing in less than ideal conditions.  Spieth will be lucky to shoot par and maintain his lead if the wind keeps up.
