I wonder if his agent gasped as he lost balance? And then wondered if he'd choke because eating and doing athletic endeavors can be tricky.

I wonder what the PGA commissioner (and the more traditional demographic of golf) was thinking?

I can see the headline. Spieth misses US Open due to injury from performing a trick shot. :-P

McIlroy twists his ankle in a kickabout, tripping trying to catch a marshmallow on its downward trajectory isn't that different, no?

A tad different. I don't think Rory's kickabout was a publicity event

Commitment? How about the guy who allowed Phil to hit a flop shot with the ball just 2 feet behind his heels? And caught it over his shoulder!

Ryen Russillo--ESPN radio host--did this on the first try Thursday.  Not impressed.

Maybe it's because I have kids. . but that's a dirty marshmallow.  Yecch.  Catch it in your hat or something next time.  Jeez.

Not if you cleaned both the golf ball and the wedge first.

I use old Taylor Made clubs from eBay and golf shops.

Ha ha, nope.  Put it in the trash.  I said NOW, mister.  :)

And you have kids?!

Heck, if the worst thing that goes into a kids mouth is a somewhat grassy marshmallo, then you're living on a different planet than I am!

Yeah.. My wife was just complaining that my kid picked up a cotton ball in the play ground and ate it because it was pink and thought it was a marshmallow.. He spit it out at least :)

Hopefully not pink because of someone's blood...

What do you mean the *worst* thing ? lol.  I caught my 3 year old eating goldfish he found on the ground at the bottom of a slide on the playground . .today!  I made him stop eating those - but I'm not going to let him eat dirty marshmallows just because they're less gross.  I know it's not that dirty . . but that was my first reaction when I saw that . .I was like "Don't eat that!"

My brother ate (yes ate!) 101 live goldfish at a charity party in college. They were small. Let's see Jordan do that with a wedge!

    • It’s winter here and time hitting at my indoor place.  This year I bought and sold a few sets so I didn’t settle in on anything. For this coming season, starting now I have a choice to make.  What set would you guys use? 1.  Nike Vapor Pro irons - They are like new, hit them some last year before I had to demo other sets.  I love them, original grips, barely used so I’m almost not wanting to use them to keep their value up.  Standard LLL and standard grips. 2. Taylormade P7TW irons - Still in the box.  Got them over a year ago but had too much to hit, never used them.  Have used a set in the past and loved them.  Ended up with my own set custom fit to me -1/4”, 1 degree flat midsize grips.  These are probably not as valuable because they are still available and they are fit to me. I hate to put the Nikes away but it makes more sense to save them than the TW’s…. I dunno….
    • Day 215 (3 Dec 24) - Another very chilly day - opted to work on easy pitches in the backyard. Worked thru the irons and wedges - focused on foot position and tempo.
    • Yes. I believe in using the same ball all of the time, including chipping and putting practice. I use the orange Callaway Supersoft.  Only $25 per dozen, and sometimes on sale for $20.
    • A 5400 yd course is not that short for gents driving it 160 yards considering the approach shot lengths they are going to be faced with on Par 4s.  Also, for the course you are referring to I estimate the Par 4s have to average longer than 260 yds, because the Par 5s are 800 yds or so, and if there are four Par 3s averaging 130 the total is 1320 yds.  This leaves 4080 yds remaining for 12 Par 4s.  That is an average of 340 per hole. Anyway, if there are super seniors driving it only 160ish and breaking 80 consistently, they must be elite/exceptional in other aspects of their games.  I play a lot of golf with 65-75 yr old seniors on a 5400 yd course.  They all drive it 180-200 or so, but many are slicers and poor iron players.  None can break 80. I am 66 and drive it 200 yds.  My average score is 76.  On that course my average approach shot on Par 4s is 125 yds.  The ten Par 4s average 313 yds.  By that comparison the 160 yd driver of the ball would have 165 left when attempting GIR on those holes.
