Oh thank goodness.  I thought I was missing something.  I mostly remember Grace as the guy who lost to Tiger in the first round of the 2009 Match Play (Tiger's return from injury).  Probably not fair to him as he's had other accomplishments.

Going by WGR, he's up there. But if we're not going by WGR, I'd say Sergio.

Stenson in Zen-zone. Deserved. Very well deserved. I mean, when was the last time somebody shot 6 under in the final round from the last group to lose?

Buh-bye Pip...:-(.

TV froze, when I came back, they're on the final green.  I take it Stenson won?

Other than that, he was sort of average.

Wow two players finished 20-under in a major in the last 4 majors. Pretty amazing stuff. This one was a little bit more impressive, though, given this course was a lot more trickier than Whistling Straits.

Phil is always classy in loss.  Great victory for Stenson, no one can say Phil handed it to him.

It's also gotta be the lowest two combined rounds by a final group in the final round of a major. 63-65? Unbelievable. Hard to win majors these days.

I don't know about that... seems we get one winner per major consistently ;-)

But... second place having a 63 and a 65 on his tournament and loses by 3.  Amazing.

Well couldn't really have a final pairing with more class really.  After last year the Open Champ in Zach who displays a great deal himself.  Phil and Henrik displayed a lot.

Callaway XR 9.5 + 1, Taylormade R15 3 Wood, Burner 3 Rescue, Callaway XHot 5H, Warbird 4H, Nike Vapor Fly 6-AW Irons, Titleist Vokey 54, 60 Wedges, Taylormade Rossa Fontana Putter, Srixon Z-Star Tour Yellow.

Best Score 2017:  82 (Traditions at the Glen, Par 70)

Favorite Course - Conklin Players Club (Par 72) - Best Score 86

    • It’s winter here and time hitting at my indoor place.  This year I bought and sold a few sets so I didn’t settle in on anything. For this coming season, starting now I have a choice to make.  What set would you guys use? 1.  Nike Vapor Pro irons - They are like new, hit them some last year before I had to demo other sets.  I love them, original grips, barely used so I’m almost not wanting to use them to keep their value up.  Standard LLL and standard grips. 2. Taylormade P7TW irons - Still in the box.  Got them over a year ago but had too much to hit, never used them.  Have used a set in the past and loved them.  Ended up with my own set custom fit to me -1/4”, 1 degree flat midsize grips.  These are probably not as valuable because they are still available and they are fit to me. I hate to put the Nikes away but it makes more sense to save them than the TW’s…. I dunno….
    • Day 215 (3 Dec 24) - Another very chilly day - opted to work on easy pitches in the backyard. Worked thru the irons and wedges - focused on foot position and tempo.
    • Yes. I believe in using the same ball all of the time, including chipping and putting practice. I use the orange Callaway Supersoft.  Only $25 per dozen, and sometimes on sale for $20.
    • A 5400 yd course is not that short for gents driving it 160 yards considering the approach shot lengths they are going to be faced with on Par 4s.  Also, for the course you are referring to I estimate the Par 4s have to average longer than 260 yds, because the Par 5s are 800 yds or so, and if there are four Par 3s averaging 130 the total is 1320 yds.  This leaves 4080 yds remaining for 12 Par 4s.  That is an average of 340 per hole. Anyway, if there are super seniors driving it only 160ish and breaking 80 consistently, they must be elite/exceptional in other aspects of their games.  I play a lot of golf with 65-75 yr old seniors on a 5400 yd course.  They all drive it 180-200 or so, but many are slicers and poor iron players.  None can break 80. I am 66 and drive it 200 yds.  My average score is 76.  On that course my average approach shot on Par 4s is 125 yds.  The ten Par 4s average 313 yds.  By that comparison the 160 yd driver of the ball would have 165 left when attempting GIR on those holes.
