So excited for this… the only weird thing is I don't understand why it hasn't been available on pre-order yet. It's not even available for pre-order on Best Buy.

I'll plug it in to the basement TV. It doesn't have anything else plugged into it right now except a DVD player and the DirecTV, and maybe @NatalieB will get a kick out of it with her friends.

I've been waiting on this myself!! I still have my old NES but it's got issues. I ordered some parts to fix it, but they did not help

RC Pro Am, forgot about that one! Great game. :-)

So looking forward to this. I'll probably play with this more than the Karma GoPro drone.

RC Pro AM was awesome!

On a side note,I am actually thinking of getting one of the racing drones like on the DRL with the goggles and what not. I talked with a friend about them yesterday. He owns an RC shop. They race them about 5 minutes from my house every weekend.

That's pretty cool and not too bad at $59.95.

I still have my old one and it still works.  Pull it out every once in a while and play all three Mario's.  It was a great system back in the day.

Cool how this one has all the Mario's, Donkey Kong , Contra, Punch Out and Galaga.

Wow, Christmas 1987 all over again!

IMO the best gaming console of all time... I have 2 of the original NES systems and 2 dozen or so games, which unfortunately only work intermittently... I am VERY excited for this, which is 1. smaller, 2. more reliable, and 3., has an HDMI hookup.

I'm planning to order it tomorrow and I might even gift one to my brother.

The best one was the SuperNes.

Depending on how the NES remake sells they probably will do the same for Super NES. I know SEGA is making one for their console. Luckily for me I still have my Super NES, I break it out every once in awhile. Still need to pick up a couple more games for it.

Nostalgia anyone?

I think it would wear off though after 10 minutes.. the games we have are just so much better it's not even close.

still cool though.

Play a lot less of them now, but I agree most of the new stuff is much better. There are some exceptions, like the ones I listed.

Those old games are built on the arcade format where you get 3 "lives" and 3 "continues". They were easy to learn, hard to play, and designed to suck up quarters. The resemblance to modern games is purely superficial. It's like comparing miniature golf and real golf.

    • The term I hear most often is "double teeing" which means the course/club has starting times from both the #1 and #10 tee.  I have encountered this many times and we know if we are the first group off #10, we may well get to #1 and have to wait because there are groups still with tee times yet to tee of #1.  In most instances, where the course/club has a starter, he normally explains this situation.  In this case, the pro advised what you would could/would encounter making the turn to #1.  And, that is exactly what happened.  Probably would have been wise to talk to the pro after playing back 9 and ask when you could go off #1 since apparently that club does not double tee.   Regardless, the outburst towards the other group was uncalled for.  And, I don't blame the member for being upset.  As a member of a private club, you are responsible for the actions of your guest.  I have played many times as a guest in the UK and I am pretty damn sure my host was responsible for my actions while at the club.  I know at the clubs I have belonged to here in the US, that is the way it is.  As a matter of fact, the member may find himself being brought before management and facing possible suspension.  So, I don't blame him for being upset.  However, as the host, he really should have stepped up and put a stop to the OP's actions.  OP makes this statement "I now understand that standards are different on the "private course." But I'll take those lessons to the muni, too."  No, the standards are not different.  You, sir, seem to be just a bit hard headed and belligerent, even if you are college professor...which possibly explains a lot.   JMHO
