Albatross or Ace?

 if an albatross is 3 under par on a single hole,

and you shoot a hole in 1 on a par 4,

is it both an Albatross and an hole in 1?

Simple.  It's both.  Just as a 1 on a par-3 is both an ace and an eagle.

Same. Either term is appropriate. It's not an either or

Off topic, there is something called a "condor" which is a hole in one on a par 5. Apparently there are two condors verified and recorded in golf history.

Clearly, it's both.

It is also rare enough that you'd never describe it as (only) either one.

If someone asked "Have you ever had a hole in one?", you'd never say "Yes" without adding "and it was on a Par 4." Same with the albatross.

Depends if you are buying the beer for the hole in one.   If the club house is crowded, it is an  albatross,   not too crowded, call it an ace.

Definitely not a double eagle. -2 is an eagle, double that is -4.

I had 2 of those in 1 round, once!
I was playing alone so no can verify,
I also saw bigfoot run from the woods OB across the fairway!

If I ever get a hole in one, par 3, 4 or 5 I will call it nothing but a hole in one.

I think the other terms should be used for hole outs not from the Tee.  I mean its hard enough to get one so call it what it is!
