30 min of search for the casting remedy.

Tried feet together and short seven iron swing to feel the release--so, so

tried starting with seven iron at waist height, pre-set wrist cock, raise up to top  of backswing and backdown without completing swing two times and finally release thru on third swing--could feel lag release but seems to promote tension

sklz swing trainer for big long sequenced swing with hands release as the final bit--weight of trainer helps feel lag but hard to maintain

small driver swings to big ones trying to feel release--more or less

worried that when I get to range and course on Saturday my swing will be a mess

Last day in Florida, got to have a long range session. Focused on 3/4 backswing feel and keeping my head still as I start down. Also got some sand and putting practice in. Back to the cold weather tonight.

1/18: 45min at range. Worked on backswing and left wrist on video. Mixed results as it still feels different over hitting a ball. Backswing gets longer. Left wrist breaks down. I think I saw some improvement though

65* on Saturday is not so bad. Sunday should be ok. Courses are a tad damp in areas, but hey, Golf in January. A+ bonus.

45 min with my new routine

1. Skillz swing trainer to warm up and get feeling started

2. Small swings with feet together, then to "y" swing with feet bit further apart, next "L" swings with feet wider

3. Pump drill with full swing

I do this first with a 7 iron and then with a driver, inserting Skillz between each step.

Repeat as many sets as I have time for, but a minimum of 5 min.

Practiced swings out back tonight waiting on the rocket launch. The launch was scrubbed, but I got some practice in. Keeping he left arm straight(er) seems to help with rotating my hip back for some reason.

Had probably the best range session I've had in the past few years.  Working on turning my left shoulder fully and speeding up the backswing.  Really, really solid contact and a great sound coming off my irons.  The driver was excellent too.  Good balance on the finish as well.  Wish I could bottle it today.

I'm either going to play 9 tomorrow or hit the range again and try and video the swing.

1/19. Warmed up for 15 minutes before playing a round. Focused on finding a swing for the day, using the drills I've been documenting for weeks here- namely, flat left wrist, stronger grip than I naturally gravitate to, and steep backswing transitioning to shallower downswing. Got the feels working with solid strikes on the range, and took it all to the course fairly successfully, where I didn't think too much about it all.

    • Day 132: did some mirror work while watching TV. Worked on backswing stuff primarily.
    • 26 Nov 24 -  It was not a record breaking round by any means, but rather a simple walking of the back nine today playing TBWB (two ball-worse ball) where the challenge is to play the worse of the two shots played - could be an errant drive from the woods, a tree knocked ball that is 100 yds farther back down the fairway, a nGIR ball as opposed to a GIR….the goal today was to stay no worse than bogie thru nine.  Managed to achieve that goal - bogied 7 holes with one dbl and one par to counter the dbl.  It’s about staying focused and not letting a bad shot or lie derail, but rather be an opportunity.
    • Day 208 (26 Nov 24)- Opted to walk 9 today (was the back nine as they had a huge group going off the front) but instead of it being persimmons and blades, I had the regular gamers but made it a TBWB (two ball-worst ball) round.  This really challenges on several fronts - ball striking to be as consistent as possible, course management from non-optimal lies and keeping your head in it as it can be depressing to nail a shot on line-on target and the second rattles the trees right and it’s over 50 yards back and that’s the one you have to play.  The goal was to be no worse than bogie overall (+9).  Finished the round exactly on the number with some solid recoveries, no penalty strokes and only one 3-putt.
