40 mins on range with #7 working on trying to get decent plane throughout swing by pulling club/hands closer to torso as opposed to stretching to hit ball. Much cleaner shots when I pull it off so definitely has been a problem.

1/27: 15min backswing. left wrist, grip, elbows closer, right elbow not retracting (feeling a bit forced at the moment).

Working on A2 to A3 with a mirror. Trying to keep my legs a bit straighter and the body bent better at the hips while reducing the pressure around the lumbar through "relaxation" drills while in position. Still figuring out the proper amount of "C" versus "S". There's a "straightness" that seems pretty optimal, but I'm not sure this is the least restrictive position or not?

Decided that straightening the legs a bit more and standing more upright works just as well as anything else.

Working on the A2 to A3 then holding at A4. The hold at A4 is to try to "stretch and relax" the muscles so that A4 feels a bit more natural. Trying to find the farthest position where A4 still feels relaxed as opposed to "coiled".

Planning on doing this continuously throughout the day and for the remainder of the weekend whenever I have a stretching break or whatever.

On way home from current gig, popped into American golf and bought a chipper practice target net, some 30% balls then a couple of sample patches of imitation grass from B & Q for £2 each and spent 1/2 hour chipping from spare room onto lading, approx 10 feet, I need to learn to chip???

Carpet putting for 15 minutes.  Still working on an open stance but adjusting the width.

Fairways and Greens.

So tonight I made swings from waist high through the impact position. Focus on staying "back" and extending through. This is such a different feeling.

1/27: Got excited about a new tip from my swing thread and tried to get sidetracked, but was reminded not to do that. About 25 reps, slow backswings with focus on hip turn and balance at each step: stop at A4 for feel, down to A6 and stop to feel weight and arms in the right place (move them there if needed), and finally extend through to A8. Then hit some full shots for fun and finished up the evening with 50 or so pitch shots to various targets around the yard.

Went to the range and hit balls. I got some video. I'm hoping for at least a shred of improvement.

    • Day 132: did some mirror work while watching TV. Worked on backswing stuff primarily.
    • 26 Nov 24 -  It was not a record breaking round by any means, but rather a simple walking of the back nine today playing TBWB (two ball-worse ball) where the challenge is to play the worse of the two shots played - could be an errant drive from the woods, a tree knocked ball that is 100 yds farther back down the fairway, a nGIR ball as opposed to a GIR….the goal today was to stay no worse than bogie thru nine.  Managed to achieve that goal - bogied 7 holes with one dbl and one par to counter the dbl.  It’s about staying focused and not letting a bad shot or lie derail, but rather be an opportunity.
    • Day 208 (26 Nov 24)- Opted to walk 9 today (was the back nine as they had a huge group going off the front) but instead of it being persimmons and blades, I had the regular gamers but made it a TBWB (two ball-worst ball) round.  This really challenges on several fronts - ball striking to be as consistent as possible, course management from non-optimal lies and keeping your head in it as it can be depressing to nail a shot on line-on target and the second rattles the trees right and it’s over 50 yards back and that’s the one you have to play.  The goal was to be no worse than bogie overall (+9).  Finished the round exactly on the number with some solid recoveries, no penalty strokes and only one 3-putt.
