Welcome back!  I wonder if this is the first time ever that something good has come of a move to Wisconsin...  :-P

I just wanted to quickly pop in and say hello after having taken most of 2016 away from the site. Sorry to have ghosted for a while, but I had a lot happening at once, and I needed to take a step back for a bit and get everything back on track. Now that I've moved to Wisconsin, I'm excited at what the future has in store, and I'm looking forward to becoming more active in the great community again. Thanks to @iacas for reaching out and helping to welcome me back into the fray. I missed all of you!

Cheers to a great 2017!

Welcome back!  I took my own break for a while as I have not been able to play and actually had wrist surgery last year.   Don't know how close you are to Milwaukee but @Jakester23 and I live there.  We used to get out and play some rounds together before my injury.  Hopefully we can get out this summer and you would be welcome to join.

Welcome back. I'm from Wisconsin as well, although many think of us northerners as in a state of our own...

That's great! I'm about an hour away, and I'd love to meet up and see some new courses in the area once they reopen (I was surprised to see that all the courses shut down here, even with no snow on the ground. Back in NY, I played with a guy once who used a power drill on tee boxes to put his peg into the frozen ground!)

Thanks once again to everyone for the kind words! I'm very grateful and reminded about what a great community has developed here. Being in a transitional period in my life, it's deeply gratifying to know there's so many kind people here with a shared passion to lean on.

Haha..Yes.  State line is only about 40 miles east. Strange though, the yooper accent doesn't start until you get over there.

Nate and I are both west of Milwaukee.  If your only an hour outside of Milwaukee there are plenty of places we would be able to meet up with you.  I drive an hour to work some days so driving an hour to play is nothing.  My work schedule is M-F so I typically play Saturday morning when the wife's at work.  Once spring rolls around we can work out the details.

    • Okay, I'm genuinely curious about this "biodegradable leather" trend in golf. Are we talking snake oil here? I mean, golf balls, clubs... they all end up in the water eventually. Is this just greenwashing, or is there actually a real environmental benefit? And honestly, does it even perform as well as traditional leather? I don't want to sacrifice distance for the planet, you know? Anyone with real-world experience with these eco-friendly golf goods? Spill the tea!
