Who you got this weekend?  My picks:

Atlanta:  think they have too much offense for Seattle since they are at home

New England:  no rational person could pick Houston

Green Bay:  think Aaron Rodgers figures out a way to win.  Wouldn't shock me if Dallas won though

KC:  my heart picking but think they will play well at arrowhead

Being a Packer fan, the toughest thing I did this week, was put Dallas in my 4 team parlay bet. With Nelson out or at the very least playing hurt, vs Dallas's running game, the Boys have to much of an advantage.

I also have NE, Seattle, and KC.

I have a few smaller bets going too. I figure that overall, if I break even for the weekend, I will have still won.

Let me think.  We moved to Atlanta from Detroit and the family is originally from Cleveland.  On the plus side; birds have fared better than either cats, or earth-tones, in the television era.  Cautious optimism is the order of the day.

In der bag:
Cleveland Hi-Bore driver, Maltby 5 wood, Maltby hybrid, Maltby irons and wedges (23 to 50) Vokey 59/07, Cleveland Niblick (LH-42), and a Maltby mallet putter.                                                                                                                                                 "When the going gets tough...it's tough to get going."

Microsoft Cortana has made its picks for the divisional round of the NFL playoffs

As always, Cortana picks only the outright winner of each game. It does not make picks against the spread, though we like to include the point spread (in parentheses, courtesy of Vegas Insider) for comparison.

Without further ado, here are Cortana's picks:

Seattle Seahawks at Atlanta Falcons (-5) — Falcons 73% chance to win

Houston Texans at New England Patriots (-16) — Patriots 83% chance to win

Pittsburgh Steelers at Kansas City Chiefs (-1.5) — Chiefs 63% chance to win

Green Bay Packers at Dallas Cowboys (-4.5) — Cowboys 51% chance to win

My thoughts:
Seattle is a Proven Playoff team, Wilson has the ability to turn it up a notch.
Falcons on the other hand has a poor track record in playoff, even at home.

On any given day and it would take a miracle for Huston to win.
But, any early injury or massive pressure on Brady, could deter the outcome.

Pitt & Chiefs will be a great game.
I'm rooting for KC, but it's a toss up.
Big Ben has been there and done that and I never bet against him.

Dallas has had a remarkable season and my pick for SB Champs this year.
It will also be a great game, but "Double Check" will come up short this year
with the game possibly going to the wire.

@Wanzo - how awful will the weather in KC be tomorrow night? i know it'll be cold, but are we talking wind and rain/snow too?

Freezing rain in the morning but supposed to warm up enough to just make it rain in afternoon and evening. And chance if rain goes down in afternoon. Looks like they made the right call to move it back so people should be able to get there fine now. But tickets are going much cheaper than normal on StubHub given the weather.

As a Bengals fan, it's almost a relief not to have them in and face another early exit. Kind of like being a Bills fan in the early 90s when they lost four straight Super Bowls.

I'm hoping for better games this weekend than what we saw last weekend. So far the ATL/SEA game is pretty solid, I have the Falcons winning at home. As someone said earlier, no one in their right mind would pick Houston tonight. Tomorrow, I think GB has a pretty good chance. I like Dak and Zeke for Dallas, but Rogers is on a roll and we've seen teams in recent years get hot in the playoffs and make an improbable run. Tomorrow night is a tossup in KC. I like KC at home but the Steelers have this annoying habit of winning on the road in the post season, like they did here in Cincinnati.

They'll need that notch for the 2nd half.

I'm surprised that Green Bay won.  Rodgers has been magical.     Pittsburgh wasn't a surprise although KC gave them a great game and everyone expected New England to win.

I believe we could see a Green Bay vs. Pittsburgh Superbowl.

Niners fan so I'm pleased the Seahawks and Cowboys are out. Shame the Pats are in the AFCCG though (again!!!).

Rodgers talent is ridiculous but I think GB secondary is going to get torched by Ryan/Jones. Could be a VERY high scoring NFC Champ Game.

I'm not.  The Cowboys aren't as good as their record.  Honestly, I was more worried about NY, than I was about Dallas.

Pack/Steelers would be great, but they both have tough teams to beat next week!

    • Day 8: 12/17/2024 Okay I took my new PPJ swing thought to the range today. I wasn't sure I was quite ready to do so, but I'm glad I did.  When I got it right it was good... really good. When I got it wrong it was a major fail. I hit lots of really ugly ones. But I didn't let that deter me. I stayed committed and focused on the PPJ and I avoided any temptation to go back to what I was doing before just so that I could "look" better at the range. I'm pretty excited about what I saw when I got it right.  I hit the 6 iron mostly (nearly all block work today). I also hit about 6 balls each with the PW, 8I, 5W and Driver. Those had varying degrees of success. I did crack one drive that let me feel and see what the changes will look like once I get fully trained.  Anyway, I'm going to go back to the mirror work for a couple of more days before bringing it back to the range. I do feel like if I can get this right my swing will improve a lot. So I think its worth the effort. I liked the way it looked on GEARs when I get it right, and I like the results I got at the range when I got it right. Now the goal is to work towards getting it right more often.
    • So I think it's that they can't just bend the shaft or hosel to get it to a new lie angle. They adjust that and it changes the weighting, so they have to then adjust all the weights to get it balanced again. I get the impression that it's a bit of an iterative process and they do it all in the US, so they're paying US labor costs to build it and make it work how it's supposed to. Whether you believe in the tech or not, I think that's a true statement.
    • Ah, the old EE in the backswing move. Chest going back and staying down doesn't help.
    • Extremely outward path with a very closed club face. Maybe unless you have a stupidly weak grip, like right hand way over top, I don't think the grip is necessary highly correlated to this.
