Who's left?

Are we going out as 3 threesomes? Is that allowed?

There are currently 9 of us, so yeah 3 threesomes for now.   I dont see why that wouldn't be allowed.  If the course says anything to me ahead of time, I'll pass it along.

Or if anybody knows of friends that might want to join to get us to 12, that'd be good too. :)

I'll ask some of my regular partners if they're willing to splurge on a cool outing like this :-)

My preliminary thoughts as to groups, in no particular order, are:

  1. @tristanhilton85, @Big C, and @chilepepper
  2. @Golfingdad, @Lihu, and Kaili
  3. @Shindig, @spider, and @mvmac

Obviously, if we can scrape together a couple more souls then we can realign.

Also my plans are by no means set in stone, but I'm considering shooting for 8:30 or thereabouts at Denny's right off the freeway at Limonite if anybody else wants to fill up before the round.

Everything sounds good, except could I request that Kaili, @Golfingdad and I be put into the last group?

My son's prom night on a boat this Saturday, and they're getting back pretty late. So, my son agreed to start off from our home at 9-ish Sunday morning or a bit earlier if possible. We'll get there, but I don't want him to cut his night too short either.

That's no problem.  Gives you guys a few extra minutes and if the groups in front are too slow, we'll just hit into them to nudge them along.:-P

I'm going to try and be at Denny's at about 8:30.  Unless you'd rather donDel Taco or Carls Jr - both are also in that same shopping center?

Colin may join a little later for coffee and Tristan might also come, I'm not sure.

Great, I'll aim to be at that Denny's around then too.

Thanks again for organizing this!

Have a great time, guys, I wish I could be there too.  Just one question, is @Big C going to serve beers to everyone this time, or just for himself like at Silverrock?

I'm still waiting for my son to wake up. He got back around 2:00am this morning. If we leave within the next 45 minutes we could attempt to make it to Denny's. Don't wait for us, though.

Otherwise, we'll see you on the course!

    • Interesting that it's no penalty, but then again, I can't imagine someone would purposefully put their foot out there in this situation or one like it.  And then there was the time someone purposefully deflected his own ball during a major, but that's very different too. The only time I can recall a ball I hit hitting another player or their equipment was ages ago -- over a decade and a half ago.  I had a 3' putt for an 89 and someone (a random pairing, not someone I knew) decided it was a good time for goaltending practice.  That wouldn't fall under this rule, though (and it wasn't in a tournament anyway). Thanks for continuing to share these, Dave!  I always find these interesting.
    • Day 51 (29 Apr 26) - Worked with a few of the golf team kids plus my grandson (he’s too young for the team as it’s middle-high school age and he’ll be 10 Sat).  He put on a small hitting clinic (hitting off the same tees as the rest of the boys) - one of the older kids called him a “coach”.  Worked in a few shots for myself - had the light bag: driver, 7w, 4 - 6 - 8 - Pw - Sw (DCI 962’s except the Sw a 981) and Zebra putter….got in some great tee shots, a couple of recovery and an awesome up and down for bogie: 55 yds out, hitting 4th shot due to 2nd getting tangled in limbs - see the window I need to hit for a tight spinner with the Sw - nail it to a postage letter distance from the cup for a tap in bogie….my kind of practice.
    • Day 21, April 29.  Before going to work this morning, I worked in my indoor practice room for 20 minutes.   This was entirely 6-iron shots with the usual step.  Video yesterday showed me that I'm still straightening my trail leg too much (leading to the backswing length issue I've been working to fix), so I focused on not doing that in my rehearsal swings.
    • Exactly correct.   I was absolutely certain about the penalty (none here), but the bit about where they play from can be really confusing the first time you read it.  In my big paper rule book, i used colored highlighters to make it clear.  Good thing I did, at the Cascades there's little to no cell service, so using the rules app on the phone wasnn't possible.
    • Taking a crack it, but looks pretty clear. 11.1  Ball in Motion Accidentally Hits Person or Outside Influence. a. No Penalty to Any Player If a player’s ball in motion accidentally hits any person (including the player) or outside influence: There is no penalty to any player. This is true even if the ball hits the player, the opponent or any other player or any of their caddies or equipment. Reading further down it looks like they have to play the ball as it lies. No replay from the previous spot.
