That my club is extending too early so Im hitting the bottom instead of higher up?

Could be. It just identifies that you aren't hitting the center. It doesn't specifically identify a swing fault per se. You can hit a shank coming too far over the top or from swinging too far out.

Actually, I'm going to go out on a limb and say that most of the pics here show contact that is a little high on the face. I could be, and prolly am, wrong. But I seem to remember seeing the wear marks on pros irons being much lower. Like between the second and third groove.

Could it be from hitting off mats? If I hit it a bit fat, the ball will bounce up a bit and my contact will be higher I believe.

Interesting thing to bring up. Is the clubface center actually designed to be lower??

Actually, when I look at my clubs, most of the mass is low on the back of the club head, pretty much on the other side of where that third groove would be.

Hmm....not sure? I don't think the ball would pop up that quickly. If anything I would think it's from the club head descending at too steep a rate.

Updated results from my range session today, after a month of working on tempo and swinging "easier" (and my priority piece). Much tighter pattern but still drifting towards the toe...

Today I was playing around with a diff club.  Steel project x 6.0.  This club was pristine before it hit maybe 20 balls while switching to my normal gamer Pings.  Looks a bit towards the toe.  One was heel side but doesn't show up.  Not my normal club and my Pings are dirty right now but I circled the pattern that was formed.

Updated shot. My practice 7i. This explains why I've been hitting my irons well lately.

    • Day 135: worked on putting bead for a while with the 2 cups drill.
    • Day 211 (29 Nov 24) - Friday men’s round albeit a solo foursome (temps in the 40’s, day after Thanksgiving and the average age closer to 75 - I’m a youngster at 65).  Interesting day of semi-solid play (8 of 18 GIR). Hit all four par threes in one (a first) - parred each; still had a couple 3 putt bogies; and blew up on 3 of the par 5’s (go figure)). The blow ups were some serious tree rattlers - amplifying how I got stupid and greedy instead of smart and content to just get back in the short stuff.
    • Day 60 - 2024-11-29 Got about 3.5' of snow today, so I was going to go to Golf Evolution, but… I only left the house to throw some snow. Instead, i checked out my putting stroke on HackMotion in the basement. Turns out… it's pretty good, and I'm very in touch with what I'm doing.
