Do putting grips generally mimic full swing grips?

Do putting grips generally mimic full swing grips?

How players grip the club can be very individual, but was looking at GMac, Donald, Stricker, Faxon, Schwartzel (picked these because there were videos available), and their putting grips were similar to their full swing grips. If neutral or weak-ish lead hand on the full swing, same with putting.

Another anecdotal observation, generally, it looks like putting grips are weaker. I guess stronger grips don't "make as much sense" for putting as it's a much slower swing?

I can think of plenty of putting grips I can't imagine hitting a full swing with (left hand low, claw, etc). 

FWIW, the only thing my putter grip and non-putting grip have in common is that the connection to the club is a round some-sort-of-material thing.

My putter grip is nothing like my full swing grip.   In putting, I try to have the grip in my palm and my hands are don't interlock (Vardon) like my full swing.  I also putt left hand low.

My putting grip is a reverse overlap and far weaker than my full swing. 

Having said that, my putting grip and short pitch and chip shot grips are the same. I feel like I can control distance better with my putting grip.

I'm going with no. Besides the obvious putter specific grips, the standard putter grip for most people is a pistol grip, which has flatter sides and top so you're not going to grip it the same way you'd grip your conventional round grip from the rest of your set.

A convention an putter grip has the hands more to the sides of the grip than you would if you were gripping your irons and the grip is more in the palms for your putter.

I would agree with this. 

I use a double reverse overlap. My left hand overlaps my right hand. I also grip the club much more inline with my forearms, across the palm of my hand versus in the fingers.
