Kind of small potatoes, but I thought this was funny. Dufner now has #blockedbybrandel in his Twitter bio and has been retweeting people telling him they've also been blocked by Chamblee for hours.

Personally, I can't stand Chamblee. I don't watch much Golf Channel aside from the actual broadcasts, but if he comes on it's an automatic switch-away.

Chamblee is a loud mouth. Never put together a true career so he hates on decent, long lasting tour pros. Why doesn't chamblee get out on the champions tour. He is the guy that says something blantantly untrue like "Tiger is not a true winner" and then if you call him out on it, he cries like a you know what.

Good thread Jamo, once again.

What's the back story on this?

This tweet started it. You can read the arguments that ensued to see what went down. Several PGA pros have been feuding with Brandel lately like Horschel, James Hahn, Patrick Rodgers... Anyway, some random guy named Jeff Martin decided to start heavily agreeing with Brandel, and the topic somehow came up about how Chuck Cook was a garbage teacher. Dufner, who is Cook's student, took offense to that and said this on the replies thread of Brandel's original tweet.

Then Brandel straight up blocked him after this, saying he doesn't like swearing or something.

Haha, it's funny being a fly on the wall for these ridiculous Twitter feuds....:-D

Or maybe something along the lines of "If you dont know what you are talking about, why not keep your opinions to yourself"

Then again, sometimes being straight to the point is the way to go.

That's been the best part of all of this!

"Jeffy" isn't some random guy. He's the guy who is in business with Brandel on some pretty bullshit swing theory stuff.

Jeffy is a crazy idiot, an off-shoot of Kelvin Miyahara, who fell in with Lucas Wald (who? exactly) and others like that. Last I looked they had 22 or so "micro moves" you had to take a year off to dedicate time to mastering, based on Jamie Sadlowski's swing.

I think Brandeis identity as a controversial commentator on the swing is entertaining.  I'd never buy his book but I like watching him stir things up with Nobilo or Begay or Duval.

That said,  I have no idea why he would associate himself with the likes of JM.  That's a real mistake imo.  Plus how ridiculous is it that JM is not blocked by all real pros?  I could beat that guy silly on course.

Brandels best when he's Brandel against convention as Lone Ranger. Brandel against convention backed up by JM?  That is not good.

If Brandel starts citing micro moves then he's totally lost it imo.

Loved Dufs responses good for him.

right or wrong, if you don't want the f bomb on your feed, then there's nothing wrong with that

I can't stand Chamblee and I like Duff.  But, frankly, I don't care what your opinion is, if you can't verbalize it without profanity, I stop listening.

Duff is essentially proud that he swore himself off of a conversation.  He had the moral high ground and pissed it away.

Not really. His job is as a commentator and pot-stirrer. While he's doing the latter well, he's not doing the former very well if he blocks major champions on Twitter.

You're not employed as a commentator, though, so your "choices" are made with a very different expectation/background/etc.

Plus it's also a hypocritical, BS excuse since Brandel liked this comment yesterday. He has numerous other comments in his likes feed that contain profanity.

Maybe he just doesn't like the Duffman. Whether we like it or loath it (and i'm not a massive fan, although io dont get offended) swearing is becoming part and parcel on social media these days. Too much effing and jeffing as my mum would say!

THIS comment is illuminating.  My comment is still my opinion, but I like that I have another reason to continue with disliking Chamblee

I agree, but I don't have to like it.  And I'm not offended, I just find that I don't take that person's opinion seriously.  One, they aren't able to articulate it.  Two, they are more emotional than rational and I don't have time for that.

    • Agree. The next omission needs to be that ridiculous team concept. Nobody cares about a team when they really don’t represent anything except being a group of diminished morality and/or washed up pro golfers. Or wait, we’ve also got total nobodies who’ve accomplished nothing who now get a participation trophy! Doesn’t that sound invigorating!
    • LIV moving to 72 holes is a subtle admission that 54 holes was nothing but a joke all along.
    • I was going to start a thread, but this seems like the place.  Yesterday I played my matchplay match at my local club.  My opponent is a notorious sandbagger by reputation.  The pro once pulled his tournament rounds from the past several years and said that it is impossible his tournament rounds are legit based on his handicap. here is what happened last night.  I am getting 4 shots from him.  His current handicap index is 15.3 i shot 45 on the front.   Was down 4 after nine, he had three birdies and shot even par. I was closed out on thirteen, we halved with a bogey.  That bogey put him one over par for his round.   He then took a triple on 14 and then left. As if that wasn’t bad enough, he lied about his score.   I wrote down on my scorecard what the score was.  He put higher values that didn’t affect the outcome of the match to pad his score and apparently make it not look as obvious.   He shot 36 on the front, but claimed 40.  The higher values for his score were in the online scoring app our club uses.  He did it this way: I won #7. He had a 2 foot putt for par that if he made would still lose the hole.   He picked up and said it didn’t matter since I won.  He took a 5 instead of a 4 after picking up a gimme. on #8 his approach shot on this par 4 was 8 inches.  I verbally conceded the putt but I had hit into a hazard.  I finished the hole with a 6.  Instead of birdie he put in for par. on #9, another par 4, his approach was to 18 inches.  I missed my par putt and then knowing how close I verbally conceded the putt.  I missed my bogey putt, he never conceded mine.  Instead of birdie he put down a bogey. He padded his score by 4 shots on the front.  And then did again on 10.  I rinsed one and made 6 on a par 4.  I putted out and he was fishing balls out of the lake so I drove off to the next tee.  He had 15 feet laying two but claimed a 5.     love to know the odds of a 15 handicap being even thru 12 holes on a round of golf.
