"5 Minutes Daily" Practice Challenge

Day 98 (17 Mar 22)- worked on putting tempo today.  Broke out the metronome and started with 68bpm and it was not quite the right speed.  Bumped up a couple clicks at a time.  Settled on 72bpm and it felt natural.  Spend the next 15 mins or so working on lagging putts at varied distances at this tempo.  Good day with the flat stick.

Day 12.  After work, and prior to heading out for dinner, I spent ten minutes in the practice room.  Five of those were 6-iron work and the other 5 were quarter shots with my 58.  Same focus as the past two weeks:  slow swings, working on form.  I think on Saturday I'll go over my last few Evolvr lessons (even though I had many months of not practicing since the last video), check what I'm doing compared to that.

Day 61:

Same same as previous days, but was feeling a little slow after too much corned beef, so only did 12 balls, 6 to A2 and 6 to A3

Day 99 (18 Mar 22) - had planned to play 18 today, however grandson is home sick from school and it’s PawPaw daycare today….putting practice inside.  More tempo work today - also working on overall accuracy to hole on the putting mat.

Day 14: Full swing practice with 7I.  I managed to get some video footage, which I'll upload to My Swing.  Bad habits still present in full swing, but better with half swing.  Still some out-to-in, and steep swinging from DTL, which is much better when I swing more slowly, and with a half swing.  A work in progress, of course.

Day 518: Got a small change to may stance from my Evolvr lesson. Erik wants me to narrow my stance a bit with driver to help the shift forward have more flow. I worked on this today and it helped. On my net setup, I was hitting low on the face a lot. I probably moved my right foot in three or four inches at most. Now contact is in the upper half on the face. I’ll keep working on this and get some MEVO numbers.

Day 81: 3/18/2022

Did my chipping first thing this morning before work. A couple of different distances with the 60, 54, and GW. I didn't do the ladder drill as such, but instead hit to one target continually switching clubs, then moved the target and repeated.

Got my priority piece work in today. It was really nice weather so I actually went to the driving range. The place was packed so no video, but got some nice work in on my 3 areas of focus. My hip scoop, my hand path and my rear end through the imaginary wall move.

My bag is an ever-changing combination of clubs.

A mix I am forever tinkering with.

Day 62:

Hit more punchy shots from A2 and A3 with 7-iron (12 balls each). Tried to work in some full swing, but I just can't seem to put it together yet, even at slower speeds, so just repeated the punch shots from A2 and A3 a second time.

Day 13.  After work, but before social (online, admittedly) engagement, I spent about ten minutes quarter shots with my 58 degree (indoors, off a mat, into a net).

Day 100 (19 Mar 22) - early morning swings in the backyard.  Grabbed the 5i and worked on keeping grip constant into and out of top of backswing.  Have noticed that I tend to “regrip” at the top. Coupling this with the anti-chicken wing drill as I work on keeping the arms centered around the torso as I rotate thru the swing.

Day 519: Did a Fit for Golf workout today. During the rest periods, I did mirror work focusing on one piece at transition, right shoulder moving down as I sit on my left side. It’s a small move but it felt repeatable. I’ll work on it tomorrow outside.
