Ted Potter Jr. won it last year, 3 strokes ahead of DJ and Mickelson. Coverage switches to CBS, and of course, there will be plenty of amateur shots and water cooler talk and some will be trying to figure out how to get in a round on the course along Carmel Bay.

I assumed Tiger Woods was playing in this. I don't see him in the leaderboard, so guess not.

I would watch if they could find a way to make Bill Murray disappear......

I’m glad Casey put his foot down a bit and called it. It was dark and they had no chance of finishing two more holes.

Phil being a total brat about Casey calling it. They’re in the dark and have no chance of finishing 2 more holes.

Sorry Phil- you have to wake up tomorrow morning at the same time as the rest of us and go play two holes of golf at one of the most beautiful places on earth. Boo f’ing hoo.

Yeah, no way they were gonna play two more holes. Paul Casey's pro-am team is leading by one, too, and Casey has the chance to finish solo second.

Phil being pretty pissy about it. I agree.

I walked my comment back after Phil was at least a bit less borish about it in the post round interview, but yea pissy is a good word to describe his behavior.

Ultimately, Casey saved him from another image/PR blubber because if they had somehow finished in the dark it would have just looked like Phil bullied him into agreeing to it (which is what Phil was trying to do).

Back in the day, I once called a sandlot baseball game because someone whizzed a line drive right past my head that I could not see! I was pitching and that scared the crap out of me. Not the same situation in golf, but if you can't see, you can't see! I don't know if Phil has cat's eyes, but if Casey does not, it doesn't matter.

I didn't tune in until about 5PM Eastern, and the leaders were only on the 4th hole! OK, that's 2PM Pacific, but seeing as how slow the play is there, I figured they'd be lucky to finish today. Hell, it's dark at 6!

    • Hello Golfing Buddies, It has been awhile since I posted but I am the Retired Old Man that asked for advice because I suffered two "T.I.A.'s about switching from playing right handed to playing left handed.  I purchased a Callaway Edge Left handed golf clubs. I changed the grips to oversize grips.  Well, two weeks ago and still at 79 years old, I shot a 44 and 47 on a small course in my hometown.  I am currently changing my shafts from regular flex to Senior flex.  So, you can see' it can be done! So, you other old timers; get with the program! Blessings to all of you. Retired Old Man (Terry Warner)

    • Probably since the golfer has to swing the club back and up. The hands have to move back and up. You can feel them go back and up just by turning the shoulders and bending the right arm, because it brings your hands towards your right shoulder.  The difference is if you maintain width or not. Less width means a shorter feeling swing path so the more you need to lift the arms. Being as someone who gets the right arm bend at 110+ degrees, it's 100% a timing issue. I am use to like a 1.5+ second backswing. It probably should be like 1 second at most. Half a second or more will feel like an eternity. I have had swings where I keep my right arm straighter and I am still trying to time the downswing based on the old tempo.  Ideally, for me, it is probably going to be a much quicker and shorter (in duration) backswing, while keeping the right elbow straighter. Which also means more hinging to get swing length without over swinging.

    • I'm currently recuperating from surgery, so no golf, but have been thinking about this quite a bit. This and the don't overbend the right arm thing. It's hard for me to even pose the position, so I'm not 100% sure, but I feel like it's impossible to have the right humerus along the shirt seam and not overbend your right arm, unless your hands are down near your hips. If the left arm is up at or above the shoulder plane and your right arm is bent less than 90 degrees, then your right humerus has to raise or your hands will get pulled apart. Your left hand can't reach your right hand unless either the right upper arm is up or the right arm is overbent. Is that right? If it is, then focusing on not overbending the right arm would force you to raise the humerus. And actually thinking further on it, if you do overbend your right arm, then you're basically forcing your upper arm down or forcing your left arm to bend. Since (for me at least) bending the left arm too much is not something I think I need to worry about, it means that the bend in the trail arm is really the driving force behind what happens to the right humerus.
