I'll be going though it's mostly futile.  NY is a very liberal state, doesn't matter who has the best policies.  I go mostly so I have a right to complain when the newly elected politicians screw things up worse.  NY is the 49th most tax hostile state in the country for businesses and the current politicians don't understand why they are all moving out.   I just can't wait for my kids to finish school and get out of here.

Yes, I still go to the polls. It gives me a little break from the usual routine, though. Plus, the community center is right next to the golf course.

I voted today (in this poll).

I voted two weeks ago (in PA, I mailed in even though I live 1/10th of a mile from the polling station).

So I voted no in this poll. :)

I will not be voting. I haven't kept up with politics lately and feel it would be irresponsible of me to make an uninformed decision one way or the other.

My wife and I will be voting as an independents. Been doing our home work, and don't plan on voting for very many incumbents. It's really too bad that "none of the above" has no real meaning.

I know how you feel, but it's your duty and privilege to vote. Agree that it's a pain, and I spent a good 2 to 3 hours reading through my voting literature.

You make good point, but I already voted in this poll, so not turning back now :-P

Lol, okay. But you should consider voting next time around.

Everyone complains that their representatives don't represent them, if they don't vote what can I say?

I know what you mean.  I don't belong to a political party either.  The confusion is there actually is a political party called "The Independent Party" which is a very conservative party.  So, what do we call ourselves?

In California you either check the box of a party or select a box with this description:

~ No, I do not want to disclose a political party preference.

If I were to describe by political beliefs in five words or less it would be: Socially liberal, fiscally conservative.

I think there are a lot of people with these beliefs, but there is no political party for us.  I do like not belonging to an actual party.  The closed minded fanaticism that I see among many party members is a turn off and has created a log jam in Washington.

In other words like many of us, you're a moderate.

You end up standing on both sides of the fence sometimes, and piss off everyone in internet forums. . .

It's good to see that you are still voting.

I have never had a problem pissing folks off. I was an EPA Compliance Inspector for a few decades. Pissing folks off was part of the job. :-D

Voting tomorrow? Yes.

My motto is just say no to incumbents... no matter which party, it would create such confusion to vote all of them out of office... they might actually govern.
