With Black Friday coming up and Christmas shopping about to commence I figured I'd make the yearly post about your wish list.  So lets hear it..

What is on your list for Christmas?

We don't exchange gifts but I will likely buy something for myself. Been considering an irons change but not sure. Want to demo the Ci11's and hit the Cleveland CG16's again before I make up my mind.

I bought the CG16 wedges (52, 56, 60) and I am enjoying them very much.

It's too bad the Nike Covert doesn't release earlier. I liked how the 913 felt when I tried it out over the weekend, but I do want to test out the Covert before making a decision.

Definitely try out different sets, but I will say that I absolutely love my Ci11's. Its a shame so many people dismiss Wilson Staff without even looking at their stuff. The Ci11 Irons and the DX-i Hybrids and woods are fantastic clubs. My 5 wood is money in the bank.

It is nice that the Ci11's come with both a PW and GW, but you need to buy the 3i seperate if you want one (I did, because I wanted the full set, though it rarely gets used). But I think you will really enjoy them. Good luck with whatever you choose.

As for me, my family will be buying me PentaTP5's, as that's what I always ask for when they ask what I want. There really isn't a club I want that I don't have,  along with 4 pairs of golf shoes, dozens of golf shirts and pants. Its hard to choose anything golf related when I have 3 full bags of high end clubs already. 2 golf GPS's, a range finder. 14-15 dozen balls (9 PentaTP5's, 5-6 ProV1's). But I played 140 rounds of golf this summer, so balls are never a waste for me. I rarely use them, but the Penta's get chewed up pretty bad. I never use a ball for more than 18 holes before throwing it in to my practice pails.

I do have a Nintendo WiiU pre-ordered for Sunday morning, so i'll probably ask the wife for a few games for that.

Although I may check to see if WS makes a 2 iron for the Ci11's. I would like to have one. If they do, I may ask the wife for that as well. Hoping I see some ideas for cool golf stuff I dont have in this thread.

Already ordered my Christmas present - a SC Custom Shop Pro Platinum.  Also looking at the new Titleist 913 fairway woods.  I'm going to stick with my irons since I'm hitting them well and don't want to mess that up by adjusting to new ones.

Meh, to be everything they have done is a step back from the rapture. I liked the anser, but found there were better clubs with better adjustability options.

I may buy myself a few gloves or something, but I'm doing alright in the equipment department. The only thing that really needs replacing is my hybrid. Non-golf I'm making some upgrades to my computer. New RAM, replacing the optical drive with a hard drive, swapping the old one out for an SDD.

I think I want to buy myself a Titleist 14 way cart bag but I don't know if I can convince myself to spend the money on something that has no possibility whatsoever to lower my scores.

Definitely golf shoes, some new golf balls (I still tend to lose a lot, so I play Warbirds/Gamers/Mojos), perhaps a hat or two to protect my ever increasing scalp.

I'm relatively new to playing again, having picked it up again this summer after not playing since my mid-teens (I'm 37 now, and it's NOT like riding a bike, I'm horrible at golf right now). I really don't want to ask for much in the equipment category, as I'm really not looking to have family drop lots of money on equipment I'll hit equally as bad as anything I have right now!

    • Day 6 (7 May 24) - More work in the backyard focused on tempo in addition to setup.  Worked with 6 and 7 irons hitting hard foam balls - used the old MacGregor irons to mix it up a little.
    • No! lol. But they have to be in the right sequence to play mid-handicap golf or little better. Mostly. And even in that there is range/margin for error in the motions and positions that most normal humans can handle. It helps if you have a decent idea of how a golf club moves around the body like you would any other equipment sports (baseball and hockey might be the closest) After all, fairways are 40 yards wide. Don't overthink it. Be diligent in getting basics right. I will concede that it is harder than it sounds but it certainly is not exact angle/exact position/exact degree of bend/exact speed/exact facial expression, etc, every.... single.... time or the result is horrible death.
    • Looking to play in the Severna Park Golf league and it got rained out the first three weeks. I know the course is being renovated so it is not in great shape but the location is easy for me and I would love to meet some other golfers in my area. Anyone here in Maryland Annapolis area?
    • I like to look at the positives.  Overall you are fairly consistent down the center with most shots 20 yards or less off center.  On most fairways that should be in play.  Sure, you had some very short duds, but also if you look there is a good cluster in the 110-125 yard range.  Sure, we would all like to be longer, but knowing your typical shot is more important than trying to hit the 7-Iron 175 Yards.  Just take more club for longer shots and do not worry about it.  Your distances may increase as you improve over time so do not get caught up on that now.
    • Day 552, May 7, 2024 Played nine holes with @NatalieB with irons only from her tees. Didn't really finish out any holes, just hit the irons and approaches and some chips.
